The outside of this motel makes it look like a very cute place. However, upon entering our room I immediately noticed several things that were disheartening. The carpet was badly stained. Even though it was dark carpet, I could see stains throughout the room. The walls were badly scuffed, but that's cosmetic and easier to overlook. The most disturbing part were the blankets added to the top of the bed as a sort of bed spread. They were visibly stained and when I opened them up, they had hair (long human hair) through out. They did not look like they had been washed in a long time. If they had, it was definitely time to replace. We had two queen beds and blankets on both beds looked equally dirty. I did lift the mattresses to check for bed bugs and everything looked clean. The beds are temperpedic but we were not impressed. They were rock hard and we woke up sore each morning. Even our kids who could sleep on a floor felt "ouchie" in the morning. The room was extremely tiny. We could not access one of the beds from one side as it was so close to the wall. The walkway from the sleeping area into the bathroom was also a very tight squeeze. I'm a petite person and felt cramped. The shower echoed the same. My 5'8" husband barely fit in the shower. There was adequate closet and bathroom counter space. The bathroom seemed fairly clean and kept, but outdated. You are charged a $12 resort fee per day. Really they should just call it a parking fee. The bathroom amenities were lacking (one tiny bottle of lotion, one tiny bottle of shampoo and two bars of soap for 4 people). The biggest plus of this motel is that it's very close to the gondola, shopping centers, restaurants and the major casinos. We would not choose to stay here again, nor would we recommend it to friends and family.

I got a great deal on my room for five days. I don't know about everyone's complaints about the beds. I loved mine. Maybe everyone is used to a mushy bed. No hot tub. Definitely not. Even locals told me they never had one running. If you really need one for after a day of skiing or riding ask for the handicap room. It has a jet tub in the bathroom perfect for it albeit a bit small. Stains? I expected to be some from people bringing in their boards or skis or even since it's a 'pet friendly' inn. And as far as the noise, I suppose on a weekend when they get packed the wooden floors would make it noisy. Also about the resort fee thing. I think almost all the ones in the tahoe area have that fee so no big deal. Just don't be surprised by it. And yes, the internet is slow. My 4G LTE is faster. Overall great bang for the buck. If it had a free breakfast that would make it better though.

The front desk staff and cleaning staff were not friendly. The room was not clean, had only two towels, did not have the amenities listed on website. Other people's hair on towels they brought to us. Staff was very discourteous and seemed put off by helping. If I could have gone somewhere else, I would have left. It was a busy time.

Overall the room was very small, I mean small. Motel 6 has bigger rooms. The tv was outdated, the paint was peeling in places, and the knobs in the shower would almost twist off when you turned them. The shower head was moldy and old. The place didn't resemble a resort, which is odd because they charge you a $12.00 resort fee upon leaving. They claim it covers parking and "organic" amenities. I found thus ridiculous. We paid way too much for this place! I would have rather spent a bit more and stayed at Harrahs or Harvey's! The one and only plus: a temperpedic bed.
The hotel was easy to find and the bed was great.09/26/2012
