We've been to New Orleans twice. The first time we stayed at the Omni Royal Orleans, which was fantastic, but also pricey. On this second trip, we decided to try the Royal Sonesta based on reviews and location but also the price was really good. We could not have been more pleased. This second trip was for our 25th anniversary and from the moment we arrived, we felt special. We chose to stay on the R Club level, which we highly recommend. The breakfast and evening reception were great and the private balcony away from the chaos of Bourbon street made us feel isolated, but we could also step out of the hotel right into the action so it was the best of both worlds. On our anniversary, during the evening reception, the hotel surprised us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. That evening, we came back to our room and found roses on the bed, the lights dimmed, candles everywhere. It was great! We would not stay anywhere else in New Orleans again. Going back after Christmas!

I've stayed at the Royal Sonesta twice, so obviously I'd stay again. The location is the best! When I go to New Orleans, this is the only place I want to stay. I don't eat and drink in the hotel because I want to be out on Bourbon Street. The rooms are clean and well kept. Even the "room condiments" bath gel, lotion, etc., are top of the line. If your flight is leaving late, they will even house your luggage after you check out until you need to pick it up. I'll say it again, when I go to New Orleans, I don't want to stay any place else!

I just returned home to Las Vegas from 3 days at the Royal Sonesta in the French Quarter with my wife and I have to write it was an excellent experience. The staff was professional and courteous. They were also extremely helpful whenever I needed it. And the location on Bourbon Street was very convenient for frequent stops back at our room. I will definitely stay at this hotel in the future.

Beautiful hotel. The room was the best (with a balcony) I loved the fact that the hotel is on Bourbon St., the heart of the French Quarter.I had to wait about 1 hr. 1/2 before a room was ready. Once in my room, I noticed how so much detail was given to the decor. There was a mini bar and also a safe. The bed was so comfortable and the balcony was spacious. I loved it. I sat on the balcony and watched the crowd walk up and down Bourbon St. The music from the clubs were so loud, if I chose not to go to the clubs, I could hear the music from the balcony and enjoy it.. Once the balcony doors were closed, the music was muffled. You will love the poolside and the courtyard. Quiet and peaceful in the evening when the children have lefted. I would say out of all the staff that I had contact with the bellmen, security guards, and the valet were the friendliest.. The bellman told me about the gift shop, the jazz club, restaurant, and also about city attractions, etc. The security guards met us at the door when we entered the hotel after visiting the city. The valet staff were great, very attentive and friendly. The manager and reservation staff were not. I would choose this hotel again because the good out weighed the bad. Caution! Hotel dining and drinks very expensive. Try other places to drink and dine off Bourbon Street. Great value for the money.
