5 minutes from Manhattan without the Manhattan price! The ferry across the Hudson is part of the fun. Good restaurant, good bar. Staff is great. If I'm on personal travel, this is my NYC choice. Warning - sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable place I've ever slept. Not the most uncomfortable either.

We stayed 3 nights in a remodeled room. Not being directly in the city has its pros and cons. Views across the Hudson River to the NY skyline were outstanding. Experienced good service. Convenient ferry every 15mins to the city cost $* one way, because were were 3 people it was more cost effective to park in a parking garage in the city for $*. However, the ferry also includes a free transit bus to several locations throughout the NYC. We utilized both methods of transportation. Hotel located right out of the Lincoln Tunnel. Ruth Chris Steakhouse right across the street! Gas station and eateries nearby too. Hotel did not have a sundries shop, but there was a CVS pharmacy two blocks away. Room wise, I booked a king with a sleeper sofa. Only available in an unremodeled room. So we opted for a rollaway in a remodeled room. This worked out because with was not your ordinary rollaway. It was a full size (not mini) mattress that accomodated our 6 ft. son! We would stay there again!

This hotel was the right price, right location. They let us check in early so we could leave our car and head into NYC. The staff was very helpful in finding alternate transportation to the city as the ferry was a little pricey for a family of 4 to go back and forth. We had no water when we checked in as they are finishing renovations, but we didn't need it as we were lheading out to the city. They offered another room to shower in if we needed it. The water was back on when we got back that night and they notified us the next day of when the water would be off, and apologized for the inconvenience. The room was very large and clean and modern. The couch folded out so both my kids had their own bed and there were 2 large flat screen TV's that they also loved. I highly reommend staying here and would do so again!

We stayed here after getting off of a cruise and wanting to spend an additional couple of nights in the NYC area. The hotel isn't new, but the rooms are nice enough and are also clean. The biggest plus is that the rooms are pretty large. Ours included a sitting area with a couch, chair and desk, all for a very reasonable price. Although we did not have a car, I would think this would be a good place for someone driving into the area to stay, leave the car, and take the ferry into NYC. People are right that the ferry is very convenient, plus riding the ferry gets you access to the ferry company buses, which run throughout the city. But, the round-trip cost adds up. I think it's about $* pp round trip. So, traveling back and forth from the city to your room is not something you want to do several times a day, particularly with a family. I would definitely stay again.
