The front desk staff were very friendly. The room that we had looked down onto the top of an awning, which was dirty. The inside of our room sloped down, which made one of the chairs in the room wobble. The sliding glass door would jump of its track, we had to call for service, they were quick in coming to fix it. For the amound of money paid for this room...I don't think it was worth it. I compared this hotel to another hotel that we stayed at, we paid half the price and that hotel was worth the price.

The hotel was lovely and everyone friendly. We upgraded to a beach front room when we arrived. No one ever mentioned the beach construction that started at 6:45 am. After we complained we were told the construction crew did not work on weekends but that was not the case. Overall a lovely weekend minus the dump trucks. We recognize that this was out of the hotel's control but a heads up would have been nice.

We enjoyed our stay at the Moana Surfrider in a superior (very expensive ) room and arrived on Christmas Eve morning however when we tried to make reservations for two for dinner on Christmas Day we were told it was sold out. We then contacted the Dining Services Manager and asked where he suggested we go to eat on Christmas Day which seemed to surprise him and we pointed out that hotel guests expect to be able to have breakfast lunch and dinner in the hotels they are staying at. Anyway after about an hour we were told we would be accomodated before 5.00 pm when the actual dinner started at 5.30 pm. We had problems with the restaurant our whole stay and had to eat at the beach bar. Another problem we had was on Christmas morning when we went to the dining room for breakfast and was told it was closed and we would have to go to another hotel for breakfast , they suggested Sheraton Princess Kaiulani which is in the next street. My complaint is that I expect a Westin hotel to be run in a professional manner with all eventualities forseen and provided for. Whilst service was excellent as was the food I think management fell short in this instance obviously good organizational skills which other hotels in the group have are sorely lacking here- you simply to do tell your customers they have to go elsewhere to eat and it does not make good business sense to forego income of any kind in this economy.
