The hotel is conveniently located in Downtown right on the most travelled street (Blvd Rene-Levesque) making it easy to access by both metro (w/in 2 blocks) and the 747 airport bus (w/in 1 block). We arrived prior to the 3pm check-in time, but were promptly greeted and allowed to check-in 1.5 hours early. Our corner room was nicely appointed and spacious with modern decor. However, the doors to two other rooms were located very close by and whenever our neighbors returned late at night, their conversations were loud enough to wake me up. The occasional muffled siren from the street could also be heard. Concierge service was excellent with helpful recommendations for restaurants, directions/maps, research & printouts of our points of interest, reservations, etc. Unfortunately, there was also a strike going on during our stay and we had to make our way through the picket line to enter/exit the hotel lobby. Not a big deal since there was lots of security, but not the most convenient either. Also, after multiple attempts to access the hotel's fitness center and indoor pool, we found out from the Front Desk that the entire floor was closed and under renovation. Quite a disappointment since we looked forward to a soak in the jacuzzi after a long day of sightseeing in the cold weather. This would have affected whether we chose to stay at the Sheraton or the Omni instead. It would have been appreciated if either Travelocity's or Sheraton's website disclosed this. No notice was provided upon check-in or mentioned in the room's guest information binder. In-room internet access is $14.95/day (negative), but they do have complimentary access to wifi, computers and webcams in the lobby (positive). Hotel is very easy to access by both Metro (nearest stops are Bonaventure & Peel), bus and the 747 airport bus. Nearest Underground City access is about 2 blocks away. Famed restaurant Europea and its spinoff bistro, Beaver Hall, are both excellent and within walking distance (make sure to have reservations!). Vieux Montreal is just two metro stops away with lots of shops & galleries to explore. The Bell Centre is about 2 blocks away and so is Sainte Catherine street with its shops. Saint-Jacques Cathedral is also very close and beautiful to walk through.

The Sheraton Le Centre's downtown location makes it a great choice when staying in Montreal. It is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the metro. We stayed in a standard king-size room in early August 2011. We mentioned casually that we would like a room with a view when we checked in, and we were given an upper-floor room with beautiful views of the St. Lawrence & other city landmarks. The bathrooms were large & clean with beautiful lighting. The hotel appeared to be recently renovated, with red, green and brown accents in a contemporary style. The two downsides to this hotel is that free internet access is available only in the very small lobby and parking under the hotel building is expensive.

Some of the staff were very professional, however on the last night of my stay, at 3:32AM I was awakened from a deep sleep by a female staff member carrying on a cellphone conversion outside of my door and the door latch being "jiggled" which apparently was caused by her leaning against the door as she slid the checkout receipt under it. I could not get any additional sleep after that. This extremely ignorant lack of consideration makes me want to avoid Sheraton Hotels in the future.

My family and I recently stayed one night and the experience was very poor. After we checked in and got to the room, we found a used condom on the floor by the adjacent-room access door. When called to complain, they sent house-keeping who came and just picked up the condom without taking any further action. expect that they'd at least spray some detergents and wiped off the spot where the condom was found. This negative experience was just the beginning. After my 8-year-old son took a bath, he found a few hair strands in the hotel towels. When he called me to take a look, I checked other towels to see whether it was an isolated problem. No, it was not. A total of 3 large and small towels have hair strands. When I called the front desk to complain, they sent a supervisor named X. She was somewhat apologetic and promised to correct the problems. She had housekeeping swapped out all the towels in the room and cleaned the room. She offered to give complimentary breakfast coupons to members of my party which I clearly said was five. To let them clean the room, we left for the next adjacent room where the rest of my family are staying. When we returned, they had replaced the towels. But to my surprise, they had given us an incorrect number of coupons four instead of five . This shows that the staff including the management are not paying attention to details which are absolutely essentials for those who are in the service industry. When I called X again, she just told me to get another coupon from the front desk. I am very disappointed that they could not even get the smallest service right.
