Though the hotel was under some major construction I found the accomodations acceptable. I was disappoined that I wasn't informed of the work being done but it did't negatively intrude on my stay, much. The location of the Imperial Palace make it a good value if you're not tied to the ammeneties. All in all, I'm satisfied.

  • Room was a bit rough, good service.

This hotel is going through major renovations so construction all over the place. Rooms have not been maintained. The elevators were not working much and took forever to get. We mainly used the stairs. Waited 10 minutes to get elevator when we went to leave with our luggage and had to take the stairs instead. Very frustrating. I would imagine it will be nice when its done but at this time I would not recommend this hotel. I have stayed here other times and had good luck. To me it seems they are not maintaining it while they are renovating it.

  • Clean, comfortable, and inexpensive

We had a room on the 17th floor, and while the elevators are slow, the beds were great, the room was clean, and it was quiet.

  • This hotel was incredibly tacky and rundown.

We understand that the Imperial Palace is undergoing a renovation, but it's current state makes you scratch. The carpets are worn and dirty and the wallpaper is pealing off the walls. We upgraded to a 'suite', which just means a king bed and an oversized bath (permanently dirty)/shower in the main room. Our view was of a very tacky outside of the building were the paint is flaked and pealing. It was a rather creepy place to stay. The only way it warrants three-stars, must be due to the number of amenities, as the facilities are on the scale of a one-star. We tried to stay out of our room as much as possible. We were disappointed to say the least.
