I was looking for an inexpensive room in Vegas. That's exactly what this turned out to be. Nothing more, nothing less. My biggest complaint was that there was almost a half hour wait in line to check in. The way they had the reception desk set up (think Disneyworld ride queue) made me think that this was an everyday occurrence for them.

I wanted to stay in an inexpensive hotel that was right on the strip, and the Imperial Palace was the obvious choice for my 2 night mid-week stay. Pros: My immediate impression of the hotel as I walked into the lobby was that I was getting what I paid for.... it wasn't a glamorous place, but not necessarily dirty. The check-in process was actually quick and easy, the front desk staff were very friendly. The atmosphere wasn't too bad, with music playing, and a live dancer doing her thing dancing on some kind of pedestal. When I asked for a refrigerator, there was a small daily fee, but they delivered it to my room quickly. The room was very average, but there wasn't any scent of smoke (I asked for a non-smoking room), and the cleaning staff did their job well, overall. After my 2 nights, my checkout was done quickly, and the front desk was once again very friendly and positive. I asked that my luggage be held, because my flight was leaving later that day, and the staff took care of me, with a smile on their face (very appreciative of their positive attitude). Cons: I was dismayed to find that there was only one working elevator in my tower! Even worse, they never fixed the other elevator during my stay, so it was always a long wait to get up or down from my room. Very annoying. The bathroom was small, and the room was dark, with not much of a view of Vegas. It is definitely just a place to sleep in. I play poker, but the poker room in the casino hardly had any players. The hotel's shops and restaurants left me unimpressed, and the casino itself was small, so it got crowded pretty easily during peak times. Overall, I got what I paid for... a cheap room, at a good location, but not much else.

The hotel was a good location, I am not sure I would stay again, housekeeping was very friendly, long walk from front desk to room, the beds were very hard, the room smelled musky, carpets and bedding stained, and do not use your phone in your room unless you want to pay an arm and leg.

  • The hotel was great for that price
