Great locatiion on the strip. Paid a little extra for the strip view. Very nice room view from our window and well decorated. Excellent and friendly staff at New York, New York hotel. Would definitely book this hotel again.

My friend and I had read reviews mentioning long check in lines, etc. We found the service to be impeccable and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location is great; it's right there by everything, but away from the busiest part of the strip, so the traffic wasn't quite as bad as other places. We were easily able to walk to all of our destinations. There was a lot to do and see within the hotel as well, and that alone provided an entire afternoon of relaxation. We didn't ride the coaster, but it did run after the stated 10pm closing time. Our only complaint was that the pool was small for such a large hotel and it closed relatively early. After walking all day, relaxing in the pool would have been a fantastic treat.

Nice looking hotel and room, but OMG!, from the moment we checked in, until checkout, everything that was promised didn't come true. THE FREE BREAKFAST BUFFET coupon that was the deciding factor to choose this place was for ANOTHER one of their properties, what a joke! Their food outlets were "weak" and their deals they advertised were less than promised. Pizza at Siricca's was a big slice, but tasted and looked like burned dough and ketchup. It was a complete shame because their other MGM properties I've stayed at are great. I landed up gambling=losing all my money at Planet Hollywood! You also get charged $18 a day for internet you never use, and a gym that is a postage stamp and crowded with limited hours. This $18 charge is NOT optional. Total waste of time at check-in and everywhere else. The whole goal is to get people to gamble at their place, that I understand. But when you nickel and dime them and then bait and switch, why would I gamble there? I'm not superstitious, but when I'm not getting what I paid for, why would I think I'd have any more luck at the tables? I'm sure someone with an MBA thought this nonsense up. Just sad.
