My wife and I have made several trips to Vegas and usually stay at Mandalay Bay so I will compare to them. The hotel and casino were clean. The room was small the bathroom very small and the shower heads don't move. If you are taller that 6' it just isn't comfortable. The staff at the front desk were nice but the hotel had lost my reservation and it really seemed to fluster them. The first guy was telling me he couldn't find it and I was getting the impression he was about to tell me I was out of luck until I produced my printed confirmation. They went in the back for for 15-20min before returning and giving us a room. The room was supposed to have a strip view but didn't. I didn't complain since we only sleep there anyhow. The staff at the box office on the other hand were very rude. The staff at check out were great and the hotel had corrected evreything in the system as far as pricing from my confirmation. Over all for what I paid for the package it was a good place to stay but others are better for just a few $$ more.

What a disappointment. To start with, our 'strip view' consisted of the sideways view of the roof and half of the rollercoaster. When we complained, they said, sorry we consider this a 'strip view'. The rooms are dated, no refrigerator in room despite the $18/day resort fee. Oh and toiletries in the bathroom, AWFUL. Soaps are smaller than the size of dried apricots and terrible quality, like old fashioned powdered soap that was pressed into bars. Never have I stayed at a supposedly mid-scale hotel where they didn't give you GLASSES in the bathroom for drinking water or whatever. They've skimped on all counts! LOBBY - so small and crowded with people in comparison to the other hotels on the strip. Very cluttered and confusing to navigate. SWIMMING POOL - not Vegas style, more like 'backyard style', no glitz, no pizazz. They push HELICOPTOR TOURS but no one monitors the 'pick up/drop off' spot. So tour buses that take you to the airport come and go, but you don't know which bus is which. New York lives up to its name not much, for a lot of money. It's tacky. Next time, MGM Grand or an off strip hotel. For AFFORDABLE, awesome food and a great deal, search the internet for Ellis Island, incredible steak breakfast $5.99/no lie, best steak in Vegas. You may find a coupon for free chips.

We just came back a week ago and will never stay there again. The lady that checked us in was rude and charged our CC $180 too much without telling us. Our debit card info was stolen and the staff acted as if they didn't care. The wait staff was horrible and the dealers were acted like you were bothering them if you sat at their table. The room was great, after we got into the room we booked. If you want to have fun while gambling I suggest Planet Hollywood, that place was great and right in the middle of everything!

This is my fourth stay at the New York New York and will definately stay there again. Favorite hotel on the strip. Has everything you need and staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back.
