Great Hotel! Great staff!

I selected the Ritz Carlton because this vacation was a special gift for our family. It was expensive but the views, the grounds and service were unmatched by any other place I looked at online. The spa is also heavenly! We enjoyed the free garden tour and the sushi making class! Also worked out with a wonderful trainer (Ruth) one morning. She's awesome! We were unable to get a reservation on the Lady Lynsey catamaran from The Ritz for a snorkling excursion, so we made reservations on the Coconut out of the Wyndham in Sugar Bay, about 5 minutes away. The snorkling excursion was excellent! Going to the Wyndham to catch the boat gave me an opportunity to view that resort, and I was sooo glad I chose the Ritz over the Wyndham. There's no comparison. The Ritz is beautiful, well kept, everything the Wyndham is not. I felt the restaurants onsite were very expensive, but if you rent a car, you have the option of going to Red Hook for a pretty good meal for a more reasonable price. There are other restaurants going towards downtown as well. Renting a car is also cheaper than taking a taxi since they charge $10 a person one-way. We didn't venture out after dark because the roads are very small and winding with little visibility. We tried saving money in other ways, like going to a grocery store and bringing fruits, snacks, and drinks to the room. If you are super budget counscious, this may not be the place for you. There are no washing machines to do laundry, no refrigerators in the room or microwaves to make your own meals. If you're able to splurge and treat yourself, this is the place to be!

The Ritz-Carlton was an awesome place to stay. There were 4 fine dining restaurants on the property, as well as a first class spa, hair salon and gift shops. The pool was wonderful as well as beautiful. The view was spectacular. The resort grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The Fitness center was immaculate and available 24/7. Rooms were serviced twice daily. Bed covers were turned down at night and chocolate was left on each pillow daily. I thought it was a little pricey, especially with the added $58 per day resort service fee. Since all restaurants were "fine dining" even breakfast was quite expensive. But I guess you have to pay for luxury!
