The hotel was over priced for the weekend we went but everything was over priced

We stayed at Rodeway several years ago in one of the ocean front efficiencies and I would never stay there again. There were 25 watt bulbs in all of the lamps which made the room pretty dark. We went to the front desk to see if we could get larger wattage bulbs and they said they did not have any. We ended up buying some ourselves and switching the lower wattage ones back when we left. We were near the indoor pool and the entire corridor was musty and damp. It was really depressing. I'm sure there must be some way to make the corridors better ventilated or else not have the indoor pool right where guests are staying. I just didn't like the entire experience but it was only for a few days. I wouldn't recommend it however.

Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel for the price. Only stayed overnight, but it was clean and comfortable, close to restaurants and on the ocean. Very affordable - even for oceanfront, although I did not stay in an OF room. Staff was pleasant and even had free continental breakfast.

I was concerned that the inexpensive rate would lead to a substandard experience, but tried it anyway. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Clean room right on the beach. We had a wonderful experience and are so glad we chose this hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

Our room, which had two queen-sized beds, did not overlook the beach, but that didn't matter because my friend and I arrived in the evening, explored the board walk, slept well, checked out, and had a full day on the beach, which was just through the parkinglot. I had talked to the people behind the desk about letting me keep my car parked in their lot after checkout, and they said it was fine, and that it would be fine if we used their pool showers after check out, too. When we left the beach to go home, my car had not been ticketed, vandalized, or towed. No one hassled me or my friend when we used the hotel's bathroom, pool shower, and towels, despite no longer being guests at the hotel. This place is also a few hundred feet from the board walk, far enough away that you don't hear people at night, but still unreasonably close considering how cheap the room was. This was a perfect evening and day on the beach.
