We stayed in The Whitehall for a quick weekend get-away. The hotel room was small, but comfortable. The bed was fabulously comfortable, although a little small. The room was clean and easy to feel at home in. However, if you want coffee, be prepared to get dressed and venture to the lobby to get some, as there are no coffee makers in the rooms: the same with ice. There are no ice machines on the floors, so be prepared to go and get some yourself, or call room service when you want ice. The hotel is situated in a great area, and there is a pretty easy walk from the hotel to just about anywhere. There are several really good restaurants within walking distance, and if the weather is nice, the musuems can also be walked to. The lobby is small and crowded when guests are checking in or out, but the staff is always pleasant and helpful. There is valet parking associated with the hotel, as well as other garages very close by. We would definitely stay here for a weekend escape again.

The best thing about this hotel was the location. You could walk to any restaurant, store, etc. The bus stop was on the corner. It's only 1/2 block from Michigan Avenue so we thought it was perfect. Would stay here again.

Older hotel that is relatively well maintained. Nice bar area, and the food looked good although I didn't have any. No ice machines, rooms are stuffy and the air was vented directly on the beds with no way to adjust. Good location.

A lot closer to everything than I thought. Easy in, easy out. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were well done. If I have any complaints, the one would be having to pay $10/day of the internet service...which was slow at times and the lack of channels on the TV. When the shower was hot, it was hot which was a comfort. Other than that, the beds were appointed nicely and the whole hotel projected luxury even in its vintage style and storied history. I would definitely stay there again.
