Upon arriving at the airport,no lei greeting with Aloha transport;disappointing. Outrigger was great even tho initially we tho we are staying at a different one. Pleased we were at this one. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Resturants fantastic and poolside service great. Defintely would stay again but the city view-partial ocean view rooms have a better view.

What a great place. Rooms are well maintained Staff go out of their way for you and the on site restaurants are great. Especially liked Chucks Steak and Hula. Great food service and views. We used Glen to help us set up a whale watch and trip to Pearl Harbor. What a great guy. He was so helpful and pleasant. The location is also very accommodating You enter from downtown area and go out back to beach area. Have a great view of Diamond Head and sunsets. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything about the hotel was convenient. Valet parking is right on the main street through Waikiki so you do not have to drive around trying to figure out where to go. We were on Oahu to drop our son off for college so we had a lot of running around to do and the hotel is only a few miles from the University of Hawaii so it was easy to get in and out. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and great quality for the price. We ate at two of the restaurants and they were very good as was the service. There is so much to do within walking distance that it would be easy to go without a car rental #40we had to fill a dorm so that was not possible for us#41. We have already planned to visit our son in June and we have booked another week at the Outrigger on the Beach #40way more conveneient than the Embassy Suites - where we stayed previously#41.

We loved the location and access to the beach. Elevators are obviously old and way too slow. Pool was impossible to use as people put their towels down to hold chairs all day and the hot tub was filled with little kids. They close the pool too early. Two things we really didn't like; paying way too much for umbrella seating on the beach when we were hotel guests, also that the area from beach to shower you had to wear your shoes because they washed off debris from dinner the evening before and toothpicks etc were in the sand at the entrance.

Check-in was easy. Front desk people are nice. Outrigger Waikiki is in the heart of everything. Right on the beach, across the street is the International Market place, next door is the famous & luxurious Moana Surfrider hotel, the famous "Dukes" is right at the bottom of hotel (their lava flows are awesome), Hula Grill is in the hotel as well (but Lava Flows are not as great) - their calamari actually have more seafood than fried batter on them which is a plus. As far as the room, the beds were comfy & the room was clean. The only problem I encountered was that the bathtub water was a little clogged and took some time to drain, and there's only 2 small pillows on the bed. I like to sleep propped up a little, but if you can sleep on just 1 pillow (which your head sinks in) then you're fine. Otherwise, I have no complaints at all. I would definitely stay here again 100%!
