This was my sixth trip to the Waikiki area and had never stayed at the Outrigger on the Beach before. I wish we had discovered it years ago. This was the first time in Hawaii with our children and the room, service, and location could not have been more perfect. For a small fee, we were able to upgrade to a corner suite with two rooms, two bathrooms, three sliding doors and a view of Diamond Head that looked like a post card. The beach view was stunning, and the turn down service and staff made us feel like royalty. Even the parking staff called us by name. Also, Dukes was the perfect late night place to grab a bite. I wanna go back.

I have stayed here a few times and I love this hotel staff is very polite and accommodating. If we didn’t like the layout of the room or the view we were able to switch without a problem at no extra cost. It is expensive to stay here but you get what you pay for beautiful views of the beach from the restaurants in the hotel. There is a reduced parking fee because the hotel is right on the beach so it is understandable. If we needed anything like extra towels we just made a quick phone call and got what we needed. Its a nice clean hotel with a great location for shopping and hanging out on the beach. FYI for every traveler if you don’t like what you get ask to change your room at the time don’t complain about a phone call or compensation you didn’t get after you left. Please rate the rooms location and staff behavior at the time of your visit. It’s annoying reading personal complaints I’m just looking for reviews that list a modern comfortable clean place to stay without out paying the BIG bucks.

The staff is extremely welcoming and genuinely warm. The hotel has an excellent location in the heart of Waikiki, with beachfront access and directly across the street from the International Market. The Hula Grill restaurant has beautiful ocean front views and friendly service, my server remembered me each time I ate there. The fitness center is on the Penthouse level and features an ocean view and well maintained equipment. My room was surprisingly large, with a king bed and a sofa.

Can't say enough good about the Outrigger! Service was friendly, always helpful (but not obtrusive when you really didn't need or want assistance). Room was very pleasant - pretty decent view of the beach visible between our hotel and the adjacent property, and the water beyond from the balcony of our "partial view" room. Hotel in addition to being "on the beach" (which was somewhat narrow at that point), was very convenient to shopping and all the lures of Waikiki. Hotel breakfast buffet on the oceanfront patio at Duke's was delightful. We had randomly chosen to eat at Duke's Restaurant on the Hotel ground floor the evening we checked in - and discovered that their seafood was fabulous AND reasonable. Our waitress, after being advised that my wife really wasn't a fan of seafood (but was willing to try a regionall favorite), recommended a light, local fish in a macadamia nut sauce - after eating, my wife and I agreed it was, without question, the finest seafood we've enjoyed in over 40 yrs of marriage. Would not hesitate to visit again, if we go back to Waikiki for a stay.

This was my 2nd trip to Honolulu and I had a blast. The hotel location is perfect. Walk out the back and you're on the beach. Good dining options and entertainment. Duke's has awesome food and a great breakfast buffet for cheap. Not the largest of pools, and in the evening they close one of the patios for their evening entertainment-live music. Hit up the smaller bar above Duke's for happy hour (wish I knew of this at the start of the trip). Catamarans and other beach activities are also located right outside the back door. Highly recomend taking a catamaran ride. Awesome ocean ride with a great view for dirt cheap, and pick the one with drinks included. Only complaint is with the rooms. Partial ocean means "PARTIAL". Ocean view room means "VIEW," as in you can see it, its not an ocean front room. Also, the room seemed a little dated, could have used a more modern tv but it was very clean. The balcony is kind of small but it works. Lots of music at night, so if you're one that whines about noise on vacation, this may be a beef and cost a star or 2 on your review. My first trip I stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki which had nicer rooms but it was not as lively as the Outrigger at night. Sheraton was more up to date, but food, night life, and prices were way better at Outrigger. Also if you have a late flight, the hotel staff will hold your bags in a locked room (for free) so you can enjoy the day without lugging them around. All excursion pickup locations are within walking distance. Would definitely stay again!
