We found the trip for a great price and were eager to get away and into the sun. Upon arrival we went straight to the hotel and got there a bit before check-in. We were fully prepared to check our bags with the bell-hops and go explore until they had our room ready. To our surprise they said they already had our room ready. Great! or so we thought... After checking in they sent us up to our room, no offer to take our bags up for us. Up we went to the 9th floor in search of our room. No signs on the wall after you get off the elevator to tell you where to go. Up and down the hallway we roamed, unable to find our room. Housekeeping finally asked us what we were looking for. Once we answered she showed us down a skinny hallway next to the main elevators, past 2 cleaning closets and the across the hall from the service elevator. This is where our room was. We opened the door and the door opened directly into the bed. We could barely get our suitcases into the room, had to close the door and then could get to the rest of our room. An exploration of our room led us to find not a full shower and queen bed but a half shower and a double bed. We had paid for a full room and were definately not getting one. Practicing my patience I decided to give it 1 night to see how it went. My thinking was that a room between 2 housekeeping cleaning closets and the service elevators was not going to be ideal. Low and behold, I was up all night because of the food carts and the elevator and once asleep was woken again before the sunrise due to housekeeping and breakfast carts. Later that morning I did request that they change our room and although there was a bit of eyerolling and a few gripes, they accomodated. Again however- no help or offer to help moving bags etc. At the end of the whole experience I really felt like because we were younger and had gotten the trip at such a great deal, they felt they could treat us differently than some of their other customers. The rest of the experience at the hotel was okay. Dukes was by far the highlight of the hotel. It's definately an older hotel, the staff certainly does not go above and beyond to help and there aren't many perks. I can think of many other places I woudl rather stay on a return trip back but it didn't ruin my Waikiki experience entirely.

  • Great stay for our honeymoon

  • Would recommend; overall a very good experience.

Loved the restaurant (Dukes) entrance out to the beach and pool. The breakfast included in the package was by far the best on the strip, a great value for the money. The cabanas were lovely, my husband got up early each morning to reserve as they were on a first come, first serve basis, which I thought was fair. We could hear the ocean from our room, which was very relaxing. I actually didn't know what it was at first as we arrived in the evening and I didn't realize how close we were to the beach!

  • This is one of the best hotel we've ever stay.

The room is very clean and the location is close to everything. We didn't book the room with ocean view but they gave us the room with partial ocean view. The noise at night can be a bit noisy for some people but the good thing is they stop playing music at 10PM. The valet parking is expensive but worth every penny. Actually, I prefer paying for valet parking rather than running around and try to find the parking spot in Waikiki.

  • Good location and good value
