My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon 3 years ago and we have returned twice. The food at Chuck's overlooking the ocean is as good as the entrees (try their steaks) and the morning breakfast buffet at Dukes is our favorite time of the day. What a spread! We like being in the heart of all the action and often stroll down the boulevard, visiting the International Market (across the street) and all he upscale stores that surround the Outrigger. Just a marvelous hotel that bustles with activity, yet is quiet on the floors where great care is taken to make everyone's Hawaii experience memorable. We always look for the Outrigger on the new TV show, "Hawaii 5-0." See you on the beach!

I've stayed here three different times for extended stays. The "Ocean Front" rooms are to die for. The other rooms are good but don't choose the Diamond Head side...there is another tall hotel right next door and thats all you see! The other side is a nice city view to the right and a nice ocean view to the left from outside on the deck. The rooms are nice and clean but not superior as would the cost indicate. I had a security issue that was not properly dealt with and no appologies were made to us even after numerous complaints to staff. I called security at 2 am and they did not show up till 4 am and the issue was not resolved even then. It made for a very scary and sleepless night in paradise!! I was very dissappointed with this to say the least. If you buy a package that includes their wonderfull breakfast buffet, remember that all of the gratuity is included (17%) so don't leave a second tip. We didn't know that until after leaving nine days of double tips!!! The waiters/waitresses should tell you this when they take your voucher from you. They KNOW it is included!!!

  • This hotel is centrally located, in the middle of all the action.

We have been returning guest. The outrigger is right on the beach and directly across the street from the international market. If you plan on staying in Waikiki, you may not need a car. The bus goes everywhere. The rooms are clean and ours offered a view of the ocean. The only negative was the loud music from the street, (non hawaiian) more like steel drums, could be heard on our balcony late at night, on the 14th floor. We were given free breakfast for the adults as part of our package and we ate every day at Dukes. It has a great breakfast buffet. Rush to get the hash browns, they go as fast as they put them out. It was very enjoyable eating at Dukes overlooking the Pacific, and the little birds walking around waiting for you to drop a crumb was cool. My only negative comment is the outrigger has started filling the beach up with their blue umbrellas for rent, it makes the beach too crowded. Otherwise it is a great place to stay. Mahallo
