Room overlooking Times Square was spacious & clean. Did not expect such a large space. All staff from bellmen to cleaning staff very welcoming. Never passed any one in halls without them greeting us. Pricey, but expected for the location & view; very well worth it!

Our extended family had a wonder visit to New York this weekend, however, our experience at the Crossroads eatery left a terrible taste in our mouths!!! After waiting patiently as we watched smaller groups receive a seat, the six of us (and different family of 8) were finally seated after I protested (politely). My protest was caused by the failure of the hostess or the manager for that matter to take advantage of the manner in which tables were being cleared and used to meet the needs of the two families that waited for over a half hour while watching others eat. For example, there were four available seats in a long group of tables, a couple had paid their check, wiped their mouths and was preparing to leave. The "hostess" went to the back of the line grabbed a table of three and sat them in the four available seats! Once we were finally seated (in one of two sections that had empty seats all along), the server took everyone's order except my order (Hmmm was that personal?) and left the table (until I called her back). When our food was served, guess who did not received everything she ordered in the pre-set menu? Oh yeah, I had to ask for my hot chocolate twice and for a spoon to stir the unmixed power as well. Had I been alone or even without two straving teenagers I would have left. In the past, I have used the Marriott frequently, including their universally OVERPRICED breakfast, however, Crossroads and your less than pleasant staff, you don't ever have to worry about finding a seat for me again in life. I would much rather skip the experience. My largest regret is the fact that I allowed your negative and rude disposition influence my morning. That won't happen again either. All in all the rest of the staff appeared to be happy and helpful. Final thought: Cross Crossroads off of your list. Your experience will be happier if you do.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend while we were in town for a conference. I travel a lot and I am accustomed to 5 star accommodations. This hotel did not make me feel like I was missing anything. The hotel was huge, but the staff was very personable and helpful. There are many unique elements about this hotel. There are about 8 elevators that go directly up the center of the hotel. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. There is also a bar/restaurant in the lobby. Both my friend and I lost small and valuable items in the room, and could not find them before we had to check out. We asked the manager to have housekeeping look for the items, expecting we would not hear from them again. The staff looked for the items and called us when they found both items! The items were held by the manager at the front desk for us. He was great! The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable. There was plenty of room in the room. There was a sitting area and a large bathroom. There was no problem with noise from other rooms or from the street (we were on the 38th floor with a Times Square view). The views of Times Square in this hotel are the best in the city. The hotel is literally ON the square. I even saw the Naked Cowboy as I got out of my taxi when I arrived. :-) It was easy to catch a cab, to walk to anywhere, and to go to see theatre. I intend to stay at this hotel again and again in the future.

The Marquis was just what we needed, a hotel that wasn't too expensive that would accommodate all 5 of our family members (there was a pull-out chair). Times Square was a convenient location because we could catch the Gray Line bus near there. However, once you step out on that sidewalk, the crowds get pretty annoying, pretty fast. I think I'd stay in a different neighborhood next time. The room was nicely sized for NYC and had a view of Times Square.
