Hotel was great, quite clean, and is probably quite exciting during a big conference or meeting. I visited early in the week when nothing was going on. The surrounding area in downtown Detroit was a bit depressing and did not feel safe late at night, but the hotel was quite nice.

I would definitely stay at the Detroit Marriott again! The staff was so nice and accomodating! The hotel was clean and quiet. The food was great at all of the restaurants! The location is perfect for views of dntn Detroit as well as the river. Great walking and attractions near by, perfect for attending a hockey game, baseball or football game. My only complaint was that the staff at the hotel bar was not very attentive...even when sitting at the bar you needed to ask for service (and there were only about 2 dozen other people in the bar - AT MOST). I would stay there again and just go to the local bars near the stadiums instead! Oh and the workout facility was clean and very nice.

This is a very nice hotel in a good location. We normally stay there when we visit Detroit. The casinos are located nearby. You can take the "people Mover" to various stops thru downtown. Detroit gets a bad rap lots of times but it is a fun place to visit.
