We stayed at the end of October, 2010. I booked a last minute vacation online and chose a 4 night package with the Bahia. I was a little hesitant to book the Bahia, but we had other family members staying there and wanted to be close. We were upgraded to a suite with the package and then upgraded to a Bay Front Suite when we arrived. Then they upgraded our family to a Suite next to us when we requested. All staff (not some, but ALL) were exceptionally nice, smiled constantly and gave prompt service. The grounds were immaculately cared for and beautiful. There was a tropical theme to the entire property, but sublte. Yes, the hotel and cottages/rooms are a bit older, but were maintained nicely. I understand that there are rooms under renovation, and even heard the front desk staff explaining that to a couple checking in, but our suite had been renovated already. Don't expect a deluxe room as far as furnishings, but it was very comfortable. More importantly it was very clean, too. We ate two breakfast buffets, two meals from the bar and room service once. The food was very good and the quality and presentation on par with a nice restaurant. My husband, who can be very picky, was beyond thrilled and all us agreed we would come back to the Bahia in the future.

My wife and I stayed at the Bahia Resort Oct 4, 2010 thru Oct 8, 2010. Should we again plan a vacation to San Diego, it will be easy for us to decide where to stay. Of our vacations over the apst 5 yeras, this was by far the best hotel we have stayed at. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful about local activities, dining and site seeing. Wonderful experience. Thank you for a great room with a great view and easy access to the ocean.

We were taking a short vacation to San Diego and introducing our two and a half year-old son to SeaWorld and Shamu! Basically, he loves anything dealing with marine life and we've already taken him to all our local aquariums. We decided to venture further out and the Bahia was a good start with their two resident seals. Watching them really set the tone for our visit to SeaWorld. As for the hotel, we really enjoyed our stay there. The location was really close to SeaWorld (five minute drive), was within walking distance to Belmont Park, and access to the major freeways was very convenient. The hotel was right next to the beach and our room overlooked the tranquil and relaxing marina. There was ample FREE parking and complimentary internet access in the rooms. Our room had a refrigerator which was a huge plus storing our son's food. The hotel had a pool, fitness center and game room - unfortunately, we were always so tired after exploring San Diego that we did not use those amenities. Maybe next time!

We were not very impressed with the Suite Bay View at the Bahia. The pictures and descriptions really talked up the room / hotel. While the hotel itself is very nice. It was great to watch the two seals be fed, the pool and hot tub were great, and the nightly rides on the bay are fun, however the room was a total letdown. It was layed out like the pictured described but their "Presidential Suite" was about 15 years behind the times. The furniture has nicks and scratches on it. The walls had holes in them and bad patch work. the curtains and linens were dirty and stained. The shelf over the toilet was loose and coming out of the wall. The sliding glass doors had metal screws coming out of the wooded handles. The doors were an aluminum type which made them feel cheap. The fireplace would turn on but after about two minutes make a loud noise and turn itself off. For a room that was called the Presidential Suite, it was fall below expectations and the price we paid for it. As we walked around the grounds, there were other rooms that faced the harbor that looked smaller and nicer.
