I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing get away. The staff was nice, the rooms clean and comfortable. The location was very close to everything you may want to do in San DIego. I would return anytime!!

Our second trip to the Bahia. This time with a toddler. The Bahia staff is welcoming. The grounds provide areas for everyone. Relax in the cabana by the bay. Visit the resident harbor seals. Explore the garden area with the fountain, ponds & ducks. We watched pelicans from our balcony. The location is excellent for nearby attractions, like Sea World, surfing & so much more. It's easy to fit exercise into your vacation. You can walk from the Bahia along the Bayside for over a mile & continue to the Promenade even further. Belmont Park with the wooden rollercoaster & other activities is nearby. We'll be back.

The staff were great! Helpful, knowledgeable, going the extra mile (especially guest services). Overall the hotel was pretty run down and the room was gloomy and out-dated. The restaurant was more like a cheap diner (though not cheap). Disappointing.

It's a good place for the money....

So, we didn't pay a lot for this hotel, and so as a result we weren't expecting luxury. We stayed in the tower and had 2 queen beds and one queen sofa sleeper, so plenty of room to sleep. Our room also had a kitchenette, with a few kitchen supplies. So, we ate our breakfasts there in the morning. The rooms in the tower are dated. The bedding was new however, so that was nice. There was a pretty strong musty smell in the room and limited hot water for showers. The water would start out hot and go luke warm then back to hot during a 10 minute shower. Not a deal breaker, just annoying. We didn't spend a lot of time in the actual hotel, just slept there pretty much. But there is free wireless and cable TV, so it's not ancient. We took advantage of the complimentary cruise at night. They have "family" times and then starting at 9:30 it's just for 21 and up. It was a fun cruise that took you across the water to their sister hotel, which by the way, is REALLY nice and I'm sure a whole lot more money. I would stay there again and bring my family. It has a nice pool/hot tub. And a playground at the water front as well as plenty of cabana chairs on the water. There was also a seal pool, which we didn't see, but would be fun for kids. The staff was very nice and accommodating. While we were there they were in the process of updating some of their rooms. When I go back, it would be great to stay in one of those!

The walls are a little thin - so the last 2 days there were kids in the room next to us that got a little noisy. However, the room was clean, bed comfy - we enjoyed the breakfast buffet that they had in the restaurant. We were upgraded from a garden view room to a bay view room - and the view was breathtaking. They are upgrading and redoing some of their buildings and they look to be gorgeous when completed. The grounds were beautiful - they were set up for a wedding by the pond gazebo area - It look like the perfect spot to say your vows. I would stay here again! Do recommend it.
