Expensive and Noisy

We stayed here on a recent trip to Portland because TripAdvisor had the hotel listed as #1 on its review site. Meh. It was okay. I don't really think it was worth the money, though. The room was kind of small, and there was a strange noise--couldn't tell if it was the air conditioner or something else--that never seemed to go away. We were only there for a night, so we didn't bother to find out what it was or to ask the staff. Too, there were a lot of goodies in the room--for sale. Things we thought were nice "touches" turned out to have price tags attached. I'm actually glad for the experience, but we probably won't stay there again.

This was our second time stay at Hotel Monaco, we love the hotel. Great staff, super friendly and helpful. Very nice hotel, close to everything downtown. I plan on staying there again in the future.
