This was our first (and last) time staying at the Stratosphere and these are some of the reasons why we don't recommend it: - A Long line at check-in, even though we got there after 10 pm on a Thursday night. - A $10 per night "resort fee", even though the Stratosphere hardly qualifies as a resort. - The Air Bar at the top of the Stratosphere tower sells $9 plastic cups of horrible wine. - Our room was on a non-smoking floor, yet there was an overpowering cigarette odor coming from the room next door. I called the front desk to verify that we were on a non-smoking floor. When I complained about the smoke odor, I was told "If we see someone smoking, we ask them to stop, but we can't make them stop". Every other hotel we've stayed in enforces their own non-smoking rules and fines any guest who violates it. - No business center where you can check your email or print out boarding passes. - Internet access was $13 per day. If you do find yourself staying at the Stratosphere, do yourself a favor and do your drinking and gambling at the Aztec Inn next door. It's not much to look at, but they have generous machines, $2 cocktails and you can print out your boarding passes there, too.

The cleaning staff was extremely loud joking with one another in the hallway. We had a "please don't interrupt" sign on the door, but as they cleaned the rooms around us they talked loudly with no concern for guests. The rooms were also dirty, there were piles of dirt in the corner of the bathroom floor the day we checked in.

you need a cab everywhere you go. and the neighborhood is not safe to walk at night. i would stay more in the middle of the strip. you can always visit the stratosphere during the day. Its a 15 dollar cab ride just to treasure island!

The only real draw back to staying at this hotel is the distance from the heart of the strip. It costs quite a bit in cab fees to travel to and from the main strip. Other than this draw back it was a great hotel the rides on top of the tower were amazing casino was clean and nice. Had its own Starbucks a big plus, lots of shops etc.

Overall had a fantastic time and the staff at the Stratosphere really takes the time to make sure their customers are taken care of. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the casino and the restaurants were top notch.
