Bad experience

I had an annoying experience when I checked out. The zipper on my suitcase broke and I needed help. I had about 2 hours before departure, but you never know what's going to happen at the airport. I decided to go to the concierge for assistance -- that's what they're there for, right? One guy came up with some tape, but watched me wrestle the bag to get the tape around it -- 40 lbs., like wrestling with a dead alligator. Two other guys -- in uniform-- just stood there and ignored me. I would expect even strangers to lend a helping hand. How about concierges and junior concierges? Apart from sweating like a WWE wrestler after my bout, I was really annoyed by the inattention. Gave the tape guy a fiver even though he didn't deserve that much. These people may be taught to say hello, have a nice day, blah, blah, blah, but they are not customer orientated. Like the hotel anyway.

The hotel interior is modern spacious and clean. Its very easy on the eyes. The service was excellent to start to faltered a little during our stay (3 days). Was able to upgrade to tower...thumbs up...not enough towels or wash cloths for a family of four. We asked three times..thumbs down. Location...thumbs up...not enough working outlets for phones to charge..and light not working inside shower...thumbs down. Policy about no turn down service...you have to call to get beds made or house cleaning...for the price we expected a touch more...thumbs down....Sunrise, Stoli mango lemonade and pool... thumbs up. My wifespotted a few ants...thumbs down. All in all decent but could be a great hotel if they paid a little more attention to the details. If these thing dont bother you, its a no brainer...but if they do you should stay somewhere else.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the lobby was very clean and modern. However, I never made it past the entry of the first room they gave me. A view of dirty towels all over the bathroom suggested either the room was never cleaned or it was still occuppied. I didn't bother to figure out which. The second room looked clean on initial inspection (except for a missing dust ruffle on one of the beds) but when I went to turn down the covers, I found them covered in pet hair. The staff was very apologetic and housekeeping came instantly to change all of the linens. Still, I couldn't help but worry about what else hadn't been cleaned.
