Hotel was clean but had a musty smell about it. Breakfast was pretty good. Shuttle service to metro was reliable. Bed was very comfortable. However air conditioning unit went out on third night in room and could not be repaired. Had to move to another room. Also room and hallways had a musty smell to them. Had a hard time accessing free Internet service.

The best part about the hotel was convenience to the metro to get to DC sites. There was a shuttle to take you to the metro which was helpful as well. Breakfast wasn't the greatest, but it sufficed.

We got a killer deal here compared to anywhere else in the DC area. Not the nicest place ever, but the staff was friendly, and we appreciated the free breakfast and shuttle. Would stay again if money was tight. Internet was only good in the lobby.

I had read the reviews for this hotel before booking, and because it had decent reviews, a free shuttle to/from the metro, and was a much cheaper option than downtown DC, we booked without a thought. The hotel advertises on a street sign newly renovated rooms, but although the lobby was well kept, the hallways smelled musty, the rooms were older (carpet was definitely overdue for replacement), and the bed was saggy (all relatively superficial for me, but still). The bathroom was nice, with consistent hot showers (a must since my sister takes forever in there). TV had good channels, and there was a microwave & mini frig in-room - all a plus. There was also a convenient business/computer room, and the breakfast was pretty decent (with waffles too). But my lower ratings reflects the fact that the service of the staff, and especially the free shuttle, was a total hit or miss. Half the time the staff was excellent - attentive, cheerful, asking if there was anything they could do - but the other half of the time, it was very dismal. One morning no one answered the phones for 1 hour, and my husband had to physically go down to the front desk. No one delivered shampoo/conditioner/soap after 2x of requests. But far worst was the "event" of catching the shuttle back to the hotel from the metro station. It arrived a couple of times on the dime when we arrived, but the other times we'd wait 20-35min, or, as was the case on one very bad night, over an hour ... in 36degree weather, totally miserable. We would've caught a cab, but every time we called the staff said that they were "on their way." Because of this, we would dread our return trip, and would have to factor in 1-2 extra hours of travel time into our schedule (which is aggravating, and equals less time to enjoy your trip!). The inconsistency in service and especially the shuttle, is why I will not be returning to this establishment.
