This is one of the largest hotels in Paris, somewhat on the edge of the city, albeit at a very convenient metro/RER location. It truly is a "cattle" class hotel, where you are just another statistic and room filler transient for them. Only the concierge merits high points - each of the folks at the concierge desk (often staffed with at least two, if not three) were very helpful, went out of their way to look up information, and assisted with all questions and requests to the extent they could. They were polite, courteous, and made a difference to me. For all other areas of the hotel, such as the checkin/out desk, dining room, bar/lounge, etc., it felt impersonal because they were catering to a high volume of customers (and that is in my experience very characteristic of large hotels anyway and so this was no different). If you are looking for a more personalized or 'connected' experience, I'd suggest checking out either smaller or one of the boutique hotels that adorn Paris all over.

The hotel is situated near Les Palais de Congress, near the metro and within walking distance of the Champs ÃlysÃ©es and the Eiffel Tower. It is directly across from a shopping center with a movie theater and there is a jazz club in the hotel. The room was beautiful and we had a nice view. We were there for New Year's and it was a pleasant part of a wonderful trip.

Room was very small. Housekeeping came in at 7:30 without knocking every morning, even with the do not disturb card on the door. If you bump the mini bar fridge with your luggage you can expect to have over a hundred Euro in charges of food, drink, and condoms, even if you never opened the fridge. You will have to fight with the front desk to get these charges removed. Also free wifi isn't free, you will be billed for that too, even if you don't use it. Again, another fight. The manager is never there to discuss anything. We were on the 9th floor and you would think it would have been quiet but no. You can plainly hear not only car horns but voices from the street below, which appearently is busy 24 hours a day. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to someone I didn't like.

This hotel lived up to all expectations. The staff were friendly, spoke English and the room was excellent. Breakfast was provided and there was plenty to satisfy what you would care to eat. The hotel is in a good central location and if you care to walk one or two miles you can reach most central Paris attractions. There are also a number of fine resturants close by. The Jazz club at the hotel also has fine food and music.

LeMeridien was adequate..a bit away from the tourisy areas but convenient to tube to get around Paris. When we booked, I was excited about the Jazz Club at the hotel but the service was horrendous. The manager was rude and when my husband and I complained the bar/club manager was not any better...I don't want to toss it up to cultural differences but I could not believe that now my husband and the manager where debating the merits of customer service. The front desk manager intervened and offered professional apologizes and offered complimentary breakfast which was marginal but atleast a nice gesture. I will never stay there again, not to mention the room did not provide complimentary coffee or tea which is a simple amenity enjoyed and expected when we travel. It seemed as though Meridien hustles every dime out of you during your stay at the hotel.
