I can't say enough about the wonderful attitude of the staff at this Embassy Suites. From check-in to check-out, the staff was a pleasure to deal with. I was upgraded to a huge king suite, which was a nice perk, and the room was spacious and clean. The bed was heavenly, with lovely extra pillows. The onsite restaurant (American Bar and Grill) served a great NY strip, delicious drinks, and my server (Gail) was very thoughtful and attentive. Parking: Obviously a nightmare in Cleveland. I prefer NOT to valet park (personally don't like anyone else in my car), so I chose to self-park. The garage is HORRENDOUSLY dark and dirty, and finding your way into the Embassy Suites lobby is tricky. Breakfast Buffet: I expected more from an Embassy Suites. Cruddy cafeteria trays, plastic cutlery, styrofoam cups, unappealing french toast, cold bacon... the made-to-order breakfast means your eggs are cooked fresh, but were served with fake cheese. I didn't go back the second morning, even though it was complimentary.

We had two small children with us and there was a large number of individuals partying and smoking in the room next to us and calling their friends to come and join them. One patron walked down the hall and boarded the elevator half dressed at the same time I was headed down to the lobby to request a refund. We left at approximately 10pm and drove three and a half hours home. A very unsatisfying ending to an otherwise nice visit to Cleveland. I was also not happy with the hotel staffs response that I was staying in the city and that this behavior was normal. I traveled to Chicago, Boston, Cincinnati, and have stayed at Embassy Suitezband have never experienced that type of atmosphere and have a hard time believing that the owners of the hotel would condone such activities in their hotel. I left as I did not want to expose my 2 boys 8 and 11 and my wife to what was going on I the next room, nor would we have been able to sleep after a long day in the city.

Stayed here with two kids. Best complimentary breakfast I ever had in any hotel--made to order, comfortable, spacious breakfast area. Best fitness facility I've ever seen in a hotel--shares it with the adjoining apartment complex, so there was a large pool, large weight room and a cardio room that overlooked the city. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was located downtown so we could walk to eat or to the indians baseball game. very clean and friendly, helpful staff to assist with needs.

We waited in line for 40 minutes just to check in. There were three separate desks where customers could check in, but at two of them employees simply stood there joking and carrying on, not once acknowledging those of us in line or asking if we needed assistance. I don't know why none of us spoke up, we should have. I noticed this type of employee behavior a number of times during my stay--- the overall impression I had was that the work culture at this hotel suffers from immaturity and an embarrassing lack of professionalism. There were some positives though: the rooms are fine, spacious enough with comfortable beds, and the flat screen TVs were nice. Be sure to bring your own paper plates, plastic silverware, napkins, etc. if you want to take advantage of the kitchenette as this hotel (unlike some other hotels I've been to, this one doesn't provide these things). I was pleased with the breakfast buffet, good selection and I thought the food was good. Wi-fi will cost you $9.99 per day for a 24-hr period. Parking is a hassle but that's to be expected at a downtown hotel, I just paid the $18 per day for the valet. The alternative is paying $15 to self-park with NO in and out privileges. Also, if you're not lucky enough to find a bellhop w/a cart, you're stuck carrying your luggage without a cart to and from your room. I tend to over pack so this was a real hassle. Overall, I thought the room itself was comfortable, the nightly manager's reception was decent and the breakfast was good. But issues like not having access to a cart to carry my things to and from my room, and very poor customer service throughout the hotel (I give the front desk team a grade F) means that I will never go back to this hotel again and would not consider recommending it to others.
