My daughter and I were recently in San Diego to visit Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. We were looking for a place to stay that was clean, reasonably priced and close to all of the attractions. This hotel fit those requirements. In addition, parking was easy; the pool was basic, but nice; the front desk staff was friendly and check-in was very fast and easy. Although the Days Hotel offers shuttle service to Sea World, we chose to drive our own car. Consequently, I can't comment on the complimentary shuttle service. The drive to Sea World was just a few minutes, and we found the same to be true of the zoo. The San Diego Wild Animal Park is actually located in Escondido and was approximately 20-30 minutes away. The hotel has an on-site restaurant which we tried once and were not impressed. We opted to eat else where for the rest of the trip (4 days / 3 nights), and found a very nice little Soupplantation (my daughter's favorite restaurant) just a few minutes drive from the hotel. The hotel maid service was competent, but extremely loud. While I appreciate the fact that chatting with one's co-workers while working makes the job more pleasant and the time go faster..... these ladies need to remember that they work in a hotel and that the guests may not wish to start their days quite that early. My only other comment is that the ceilings are very thin. On our last night, we happened to have a very restless person in the room above us. We could hear that person walking around, sitting down on the bed, getting up and walking around some more, etc. I would probably advise getting a room on an upper floor to avoid such an occurence.

I recently stayed at the Days Hotel for four nights. All-in-all, it was not a bad experience. There was sort of a "musty" odor in the room when I first entered, but it was clean - very clean. There was some outside noise. Granted, I didn't go to San Diego to stay in a room all day either. The room I was in faced the parking lot; but I did get very good rest. The "Bunz" restaurant nearby was very, very good. I will certainly be back.
