We stayed there the first week of July. I will say that for the price it was a good hotel. It is at a good location to many things to do and see in San Diego. From the little interaction I had with the staff they were friendly. We did have a problem one night with the door not locking and the front office sent a maintenance guy out with in 10 mins and he just changed the battery on the locking system. The beds are comfy and bunzs burger was pretty good for breakfast. The hotel was pretty crowed and if you get back late at night you will not get a parking spot near your room. Lots of families there and we stayed on the 3rd floor so when kids ran past the door it felt like an earthquake in our room. We did not go to the pool since it seemed like it was all the way in the back of the hotel and probably crowded with kids. The only problem we had was that the room was kind of dusty. The lighting fixtures in the bathroom and by the sink were very dusty. When I went in to use the bathroom which as a noisy sliding door, I was greeted by a spider hanging from the light.The free wifi and parking is a added plus since most hotels charge a lot for it. But overall the hotel was not bad, we basically used it just to sleep and shower, since we had lots to do while in San Diego.

The sliding door to the bathroom was off its track the entire 5 nights we stayed. The carpet was filthy My wife and I had two of our grandsons (6 and 10) for a trip to Legoland, the San Diego zoo and Seaworld. I chose this motel because of the free shuttle to the zoo and Seaworld. The days of our zoo visit we signed up for the shuttle leaving at 10:30 AM and returning at 5:30 PM. After waiting for the morning shuttle for over 20 minutes my wife and another guest went in to see why no shuttle. They said they thought it had left. 10 minutes later a driver showed up and we finally left. On the return trip we were waiting at 5:15 to be sure not to miss the shuttle. Long story short the shuttle arrived at 6:20 with passengers already on it. We had to double up on seats because there was not enough room. Driver blamed traffic, but we blame the trip to the airport when they should have been picking us up. Several of the waiting kids were very tired after a long day at the zoo and the long wait for the ride back. We drove to Seaworld bypassing the shuttle "service"

We got a wonderful rate here so couldn't turn it down. Located on the Hotel Circle which is just that...all hotels. You still need to rent a car for any sightseeing although they do have a shuttle that you can sign up for to take you to some of the surrounding areas. If all you want to do is have a decent place to sleep then this is a good choice. However, everywhere that we wanted to visit; Coronado Island, LaJolla, Beaches, and downtown, were where the action was. Next time, I will stay closer to one of these places. I was happy with the towels for both the bathrooms and the pool as there were plenty and in good condition! It would have been nice if they had a breakfast offered but it wasn't necessary. The hotel itself looked old and the parking area was way too crowded and cars were parked so close together that each morning I awoke to wondering whether or not my bumber would be dented or not. Overall, it served our purposes though.

The hotel wasn't the most beautiful but the staff was outstanding. They were very attentative and immediately resolved any issues such as needing a roll away bed or extra towels. Parking was a bit difficult for a SUV.
