We stayed here at the end of August 09 for our 1 yr anniversary. We stayed on the 9th floor, which probably helped some w/ the noise, but it is in the middle of the action, so you can't really complain about noise being an issue. The room was a good buy for the price ;Deluxe Wave;. The only complaints I have are that one of the lobby elevators was out of service, which created all kinds of delays when trying to get up or down. Also, the shower curtains are so lightweight they blow in on you while your showering, making it extremely annoying to shower.

I just got home yesterday after staying 6 nights at the Wave. My room was on the 8th floor (with a king bed (great night's sleep) and two balconies.......a bit of ocean view and wonderful views of Waikiki) and on the Duke's Lane side of the building and there was loud music a couple of the nights, but the other nights were quiet. While I had read the reviews and was a bit concerned, there were no bugs!!!!!! I think you have to use your head and keep your food put away so you don't help attract them. Staff is friendly and helpful. The beach is very close......easy walk to great food (bakery right next door, wonderful quiche), super beach, shopping (ABC stores on nearly every corner....not kidding you) and right on the bus and trolley lines, so easy to get everywhere. One note; a hospitality room is only available if they are not full. Don't count on it. But, they do hold your luggage. Nice touch. I can hardly wait to return!!!

We booked this hotel because it was cheap and we didnt plan on being in our room much. We are a young couple in our mid 20's with no children. We do travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels both nice expensive ones and cheap ones. Just because a hotel is cheap does not mean it has to be poor quality. I will just get to the basics that you need to know if you are planning on staying in this area. I would not reccomend this hotel. We had roaches in the room, the internet is TERRIBLE! You may not think its a big deal, but when you are trying to plan activiies, check bank balances, e mail, (and you do need it for booking activities on the island) it is very frustrating and slow, no room service, they charge you per night for the parking garage that holds about 50 spots while the hotels holds 300 rooms. theres no spot open when you get back , you still pay . They do offfer to park at one of there sister hotels and walk a few blocks back. I will say that the staff was very helpful and proffesional. They do try hard, but you can find much better for around the same price or a little more. I would reccomend staying in a hotel on the beach.

Our stay in the Aqua Wave Waikiki was a wonderful experience. It is located smack dab in the middle of Waikiki adjacent to the International Market Place and walking distance to any of the major Waikiki attractions, as well a major grocery store and pharmacy. We had a sick child and the pharmacy was a big asset. The pharmacist was friendly and helpful as well. The rooms were clean and spacious, complete with a small balcony. The service at the front desk was excellent. The staff was very friendly and tried to help with directions as well. But, its location is hotel's biggest asset. The only drawback I can think of was the parking. The hotel has an extremely small and tight parking lot in the basement floor of the hotel. And, the elevators do not access the parking garage. The is a short walk up two small flights of stairs to access the hotel lobby. This could be a problem for handicap or elderly individuals. We had a 7 passenger mini-van and had to park a black away in one of our hotel's "sister-properties" most of the days we were there. It was no big deal for us, but I suppose it could be a hassle for some. Our overall experience of the hotel was very positive!
