Barking dogs and screaming drunks...

The hotel lobby is nice, you have to pay an additional $*each day for parking and there is limited parking so it's on a first come, first serve basis. Often you have to park at another "sister" hotel and pay for parking then they "reimburse" you. It is a pain. There was a barking dog, barking ALL night, apparently they let dogs stay there??? It is on a lively street so there are drunk people screaming or trying to fight each other all night - every night.

This was my first vacation in 10 years and I eel like it was ruined becasue of this hotel stay. There were so many things wrong it was really amazing they are still open. There were so many things I will just list them, and you all can take it as you want it... 1. Stairs are the only entry, so you carry your own bags, and stroller everytime you leave the hotel. 2.Very old sliding doors on high floors, so parents be weary of small children, my granddaughter(2) could easily open them. and railing on balcony are basicily wide open! 3. Very small bugs on carpet got all over clothes and luggage(came from balcony) 4.If you see ear plugs on your dresser they are there for a reason...the side I was on had a garage that lifted cars to parking and let me tell you it started at 6am m-f. And friday - sunday night it started at 10pm -3am, for the partiers.( It sounded like the biggest garbage truck lifting the biggest dumpster you can imagine for about 2hours) 5.Pool was greenhalf the time we were there, and area is small than most back yards. 6.Granted I went on the worse time of the year...Spring break over there! Well, it was safest to be in your room by 10pm seriously, due to mobs of people parading up and down and yes hookers! This was the only time of day I saw hotel staff outside, and they never helped us with the stroller not once! This is when they did crowd control. 6. So on that note, DO NOT take your children to this hotel it is not kid friendly at all, and unless you dont mind not getting any sleep dont go either.

Great location for Waikiki and resonably priced if you are sight seeing the rest of Waaikiki. The hotel was spacious and clean with friendly staff. However, the view was poor (empty building, parking garages, other hotels) but no beach front. The noise volume was high. There is a night club adjacent to the hotel and it's "party" all night long and non-stop traffic. We were exhausted from the day's activities and did not notice the noise at night. Do not try the Chinese resturant downstairs (overpriced and nasty). But there are so many other great resturants nearby. I would stay again.

The room was pretty good overall. The only negative thing I can think of is that we were on the 10th floor, and our rooms did not get cleaned until late in the afternoon. This is bad, because the towels weren't changed until then. We had to wait for fresh towels to get to the beach. Aside from that, the staff were friendly, and the room was a good size. The location is perfect though! The beach is only a 5 minute walk away, so are the high-end shopping areas. It's also right next to the International Market Place and right across from the bus stops to get to downtown. Alot of eateries around too, so hunting for inexpensive food, is not a problem. It's a little noisy at night, but aside from that, I would definitely stay there again, mainly for the convenience of the location.
