I stayed here last year and again this year. Be sure to stay on 12th floor or higher. The rooms are much nicer and a lot less noise from the streets. Had a ten course Chinese dinner for 11 people at the China Garden restaurant at this hotel. The food was only all right. They tried to over charge me so check your bill. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms could be a little cleaner though. They don't dust like they should and I had to ask for them to clean the balcony glass doors and the glass closet doors after waiting for three days for them to clean the hand marks from a few children that had visited me. The maids will clean the room better if you let them know what you want done. Although you shouldn't have to tell them how to clean a room.

Overall a good hotel for our needs. We liked how it was walking distance to mostly everything. Our biggest negative would be the shortage of parking at night. But I would stay here again! Pros: - Good price - clean, updated rooms - free wi-fi - close to the center of all the action - walking distance to most of waikiki - lots of places to shop, eat and drink nearby - coffee maker, fridge AND microwave which I thought was nice to heat leftovers! Cons: - Bathroom a tad small but good for one person - no room service that I could see (but lots of food place next door) - if you're located on the international market side it can get noisy up until 4am (but at least they provide ear plugs!) - parking gets filled up at night and you have to park in another structure across the street for the night. However, they do credit the parking fee for that night and sometimes it's even cheaper $* vs $* that wave charges - no lobby driveway, you end up stopping traffic if you stop right at the front of the hotel

This hotel was great. Location was perfect. Doughnut shop next door the Galaxy rest. 1 building down. ocean was 2 blocks away. International Market all around hotel. We found this to be perfect. Stay on higher floor so the parking garage is not as loud. Plenty of bars in the area. This vacation was not as expensive as everybody says. Just get your food outside of hotels. This hotel in in the middle of everything and the staff was great.

My wife and I spent a week here from 2-16-10 through the 23rd. The hotel is very loud #40even on the 11th floor where we were#41. Our room was cleaned maybe 3 times during our entire 7 day stay We were lucky to find a maid and ask for clean towels. No view of the city or the beach. One of the 2 Elevators broke down twice for at least 1 day once. Its not what youd spend money on by choice. Its just not what its advertised to be.

My boyfriend and I stayed here with our 3 kids at the beginning of April and overall we thought it was worth it. I would stay here again. A few things though, if you are sensitive to noise then this is definately not the place for you. The noise travels up and goes on till 4 in the morning everyday. It did not affect us since we are all good sleepers, but I understand how it would disturb you. If your looking to enjoy a pool at your hotel then move on. Not only is it tiny it's an inconvenience to get there. Also our room was not made up till late afternoon. We were on the 8th floor and had a nice view of Kuhio. I do recommend not renting a car for your whole trip. It costs $* bucks to park and it's tough to get parking on site as there is only 50 spots and it's first come. Otherwise there is overflow parking at there sister hotel down the street. Very inconvenient. If you are staying a week rent a car for 3 days to go to the main attractions, otherwise everything is in walking distance. Tons of shuttles willing to take you to the malls. Go to Ala Moana mall. Amazing. When you book Luaus or cruises, they'll shuttle you. So no extra costs. Definately eat at Cheesecake factory. Try Honolulu cookie company. Eat breakfast at Moose McGillicuddys. 2 for 1 breakfast in the coupon books at every corner. One other thing, it does get very busy in front of hotel in the later evening with the young partiers and some questionable characters but overall we weren't scared off.
