There are many activities and resturants surrounding this hotel, however, if you don't know the area don't expect much help from the staff. Each time we asked for directions or recommendations for activities, etc. we were told to go map it on there interactive board in the lobby. (I'm a former employee of this hotel chain and would have been fired on the spot for this type of attitude# The maid complained about not getting paid for not cleaning our room when we asked just for towels. The room was clean upon arrival however we had to search for everything #mini fridge, hair dryer, no phone book, etc) and a little cramped. The resturant prices are outragous, we got snacks that evening and could have taken the whole family to a nice resturant for the prices.

I went to Charlotte with my husband and son for a housewarming. All we needed was a hotel that provided breakfast and the Marriott came through and then some. Loved the pool. Service was courteous and fast. Room was quite comfortable. They do have restaurants within walking distance.
