Room was comfortable. However, the hotel has a three hour window of time for breakfast that does not have the appropriate amount of room or staff to serve as many guests as they have. Not enough seating. Food not restocked in a timely manner. Messy. Crowded. Unpleasant.

If all you are looking for is a cheap hotel, then this might suit you fine. Just be aware that parking is NOT free, the hotel is in an uncomfortably weird area, and being near the highway means that you get lots of traffic noise. As it is one of the cheaper options and it is centrally located between the zoo and Seaworld, this hotel draws many families, so you have that noise as well and the free breakfast is a bit of a mob scene. In that regard, I would forget about using the pool, which is strictly for the kids (not only because it was overrun with children, but also because it was child sized). As for the rooms, they are serviceable but nothing more. There are rusted parts in the bathrooms, the TV's sometimes work, and the free wi-fi is a tad bit slower than watching paint dry. But hey, at least there were no bugs in the room. If you are willing to spend a bit more, you can get a nicer hotel in a more desirable area. In fact, I would avoid all hotels in the Hotel Circle area as I suspect they are all more or less of the same average to below average quality (without making you pay for parking).

The front staff was very busy all the time it seemed. However, they did treat me as an important individual when I had questions for them. It took two days to get extra towels up to the room for showers which was some what bothersome to me. The pool was awesome as well as the hot tub. There was one girl at the front desk that was exceptional in her help to me, and possibly others, for that girl I thank you!

I stayed at this location for my son's graduation from the Marines. It was very close to MCRD and the shuttle service was very nice, because my family didn't have a car. The staff was very helpful and our stay was very nice. The breakfast the hotel offered was great and complimentary. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your visit to San Diego.

The rooms are a bit run down, the towels old and thin. The beds were fairly comfortable. The rooms were what you would expect for a low-budget hotel. The door of the hotel room was rather thin, and we could hear people running down the hall and laughing/talking. But there was no noise that I heard from the rooms on either side of ours. The front desk staff wasn't very knowledgeable, different individuals gave different answers to the same question. One of my family members is allergic to feathers and requested non-feather bedding. The front desk person who was on while we were checking-in said the hotel didn't have any non-feather bedding. The head of housekeeping came to our room to explain that actually, the hotel doesn't have feather bedding, only synthetic. The breakfast included in the morning was free, so it was nice, but it wasn't anything fancy. If you are used to nice hotels with jacuzzi bathtubs with a flat screen TV in the BR, you will be disappointed. But I suppose it's better than a Motel 6.
