The suite was a comfortable place to "come home to" during our stay in Phoenix. The location was great for hiking in the Phoenix Mountain Reserve. The only downside was that there were several smokers who monopolized the outside sitting areas.

My stay was very good...hot breakfast every morning...starbucks coffee in the morning and even when i got back in the afternoon. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I didn't rate the room quality as 'excellent' only because of the strange configuration of the room itself. I think it was the only room like that, possibly converted from something other than a room in it's original intent...but comfortable and clean non-the-less. Bed was comfortable...I think it was that foam type mattress. They had a cookout one evening i was there with hamburgers/hotdogs. Just a good all around experience.

The bad, and the ugly below: 1)This is a MOTEL not a HOTEL despite it's name and description of being a hotel. If you don't know the difference open the door and step outside. Are you outside or are you in an interior hall way? Hotels open up to outside and you can park your vehicle nearby - hence the MO-tel (as in MOtor vehicle.) Hotels open up to a common, interior, corridor. Both have their disadvantages and advantages but I was expecting a hotel because that's what the description (and even the name of the establishment) states. 2) Very loud noise levels: I had dogs barking in the room next to me a lot of the night I also had a noisy ice machine outside my room which, even when people weren't getting ice, the thing was in a near constant defrost mode or something (this is Phoenix afterall) which made sleep near impossible. After the first night I was going to request a new room but then I realized if you switch the AC fan to ON instead of AUTO the fan would run continuously and would drown out most of the noise. So we decided to keep our room instead of risking getting another room near to other disturbances. 3) Bath tub drain clogged! Yuck! After 114f heat of Phoenix it's nice to take a shower after a long day but gross to bathe in stagnant water. Also the shower fixtures were just about ready to break off when applying the normal pressure to turn on/off the shower. 4) Insects: It looked as if there wasn't enough weather stripping around the doors and the drawers had insect droppings in them. One of the nights I went to bed with a clean nightstand next to me, the next day - an insect went to the bathroom there next to my head. Nice! Crickets: are they inside or outside your door? You might spend some of your time wondering about this late at night as I did during my sleepless nights. 5) No trash bags in the trash bins. Okay - if that's the way they want it I'll stock it up with trash directly in the can - but I wouldn't want to be on the cleaning crew. Actually, I relented and lined the trash can with the dry cleaner's bag hanging up in the closet and put only dry trash in the cans that weren't lined. 6) No where to get dressed in privacy except the teeny tiny bathroom. The Good: --------------------- It served it's purpose; we weren't planning on staying in luxury for this trip. It seems they try to give you some little extras like the beer/wine social hour (which I didn't have time to partake of), there was a complimentary bottle of water in your room etc.

My family has been staying at this property when we visit Phoenix for 7 years. The staff has been great, the breakfast good and the pool great. Our only issue with this visit was the dirty carpet. If my 9 month old daughter wasn't crawling, we would have never know the carpet was filthy. I had to launder her pants three times to get the dirty knee stains out. I sent an email to the management advising of the experience and asked what their policy was on carpet cleaning - but they never responded.
