We stayed unfortunately only one night on labor day Sep 2012.- would hav loved to stay longer! They had a great happy hour. Beach lounges are free (don't forget to tip). They will bring a lounge to you anywhere on their beach, set it up and cater to your every whim. The beach was great and never overcrowded. The pool was nice also but we stayed on the beach. Whether at the beach, in the bar, at the restaurant, checking in and out, the service was superb.

The hotel was just what we expected. From the convenient direct beach front location to the great open air porch with rocking chairs, it was a wonderful place to spend the week in Fort Lauderdale. The staff was very friendly and always conveniently available to you. The valet parking service was quick - we never had to wait for our car. The rooms were nice, although they seemed a bit tired and in need of a facelift. They were very clean and comfortable. The restaurants were a bit pricey but the food was excellent. The beach was very clean but small. Despite other reviews we had read about this resorts beach area, we never experienced any issues with seaweed left along the beach. Anything that washed in during the evening was always cleaned by the next morning. The ocean water was clear and warm. The only drawback to this resort was location. It is not within walking distance to the active oceanfront shops and restaurants so you really were forced to drive to any destinations. Overall, great place to stay.

The Pelican Beach Resort was awesome!! It started right when we parked in their valet parking (only option). We parked and my husband went to get our luggage out of the trunk and a man working there told my him he can't let him get his own bag, that this is his job. He stepped out of the way and we met a man named Enrique. He could tell that we were happy and asked us if we were on our honeymoon. We told him yes and he congratulated us and escorted us in the beautiful hotel while bringing our bags. Then check in is next. I had told them that my husband and I had reserved a king hotel room with ocean view. They looked up our room and saw it was still being occupied. I had mentioned to them that we were on our honeymoon, and they gave us a free upgrade to a king suite with an ocean view instead! Enrique escorted us upstairs to our room and was asking us how long we've been on our honeymoon and how long we will be staying there. He seemed super excited for us. When we entered our suit, and I cried because it was such a gorgeous room! Enrique told us if we needed anything, to either ask him or call up front and they will take care of us. The bedroom was perfectly decorated, very classy. The living room area was pretty, and the balcony outside our room was breath taking with the ocean view! We were only there for 2 nites, wished we could stay for a week! The private beach is perfect. There are so many things to do here; a ice cream parlor open til late, good food, a pool with a lazy river, and the beach you can't ask for more! We will definitely go back.

I've been taking my son (permanently disabled) to a Miami Dolphin's game for the last eleven years. We stayed at lower/cheaper class places for the first four to five years and then found the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. It's a little expensive, but the employees remember their clients and can get reasonable lower rates; although they are pricey. One downfall is the valet parking that they charge you daily. It's a safe and secure place. There are numerous restaurants and fast food places nearby. I highly recommend this Hotel if you can afford the price. It is excellent and I wouldn't waste my time writing. It's right on the Ocean and has a lazy river with a pool.

Very nice hotel. Staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The hotel gives you beach towels, chairs & umbrellas which is very helpful. Also the lazy river was an unexpected plus it was really fun to just float around and relax. Valet was very quick and helpful if you needed help with bags or directions. They even gave me a few places to eat that turned out to be delicious. Overall a lovely resort I can't wait to return again. the Ft. Lauderdale area was awesome lots to do and see the ocean water is crystal clear.
