We staryed at this hotel in 2010 and I am booking our next trip today. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a great relaxing vacation away from the action but near enough to enjoy it all. The hotel was gorgeous and peaceful. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the sound and view of the ocean and palms. We traveled with 3 small children (5, 3 and 2 at the time) and the hotel was very family friendly but elegant. The lazy river was great for the kids and relaxing! Great restaurants in the area: do not miss Aruba Beach Cafe. AMAZING! We have family in the area and since our stay in 2010, everyone in our family stays there when visiting. Well worth the $$$. We can't wait to go back.

The place was very nice! Disappointed in the small beach due to making dunes in front of hotel. The beach was very narrow. The prices in the gift shop and the one restaurant were ridiculous!! 2.00 for a can of pop, 5.00 for a bottle water. Grocery store very close with a bus ride, 1.75. Beautiful view from the top of the hotel on the 11th floor. Galleria shopping center very close with a taxi ride of 8.00. Pool area and lazy river very nice. Staff at this hotel was the best! We felt welcomed every time we came in the hotel. Computer room with printer, I was able to print off plane tickets with no problem. Porch in front of hotel was great with wonderful view. I would definitely stay again at the Pelican Beach. Resort!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Pelican. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a 2 King Bed suite that had a separate living area. Very comfortable. I would say we didn't really use the extra room more than a couple times so we could have saved money and stayed in a regular room. The 2nd floor does not have a private balcony- its a veranda and all the other rooms on that floor can walk out on it and past your room. Not too thrilled about that but the view was absolutely beautiful! As for the beach, the ocean water is very clear and you can walk out far before its deep. The location is a bit away from the action. The closest restaurant was about 1 mile away so we walked it. A cab ride to the Galleria(around 2 miles) for 3 cost about $7.30 before tip. Almost all the other hotels are across the street from the beach and I heard you have to pay to rent chairs and umbrellas. Our hotel is right on the beach and its complementary but we tipped the workers everyday for the chairs and umbrella. Food and drinks were pretty pricey and we expect that when we eat at a hotel. One complaint about our room was that there was not much water pressure in the toilet which was very annoying. We had to hold down the knob or flush twice just to get the toilet paper to go down...and that was even with a small amount. Maybe other rooms are different. For view, comfortable room, and beautiful beach (not large though), I would recommend this hotel.
