I would find a different place and spend a little more money. 15 min walk to transportaton which was nice, and it was close to Granville Island. Hotel is close to a busy road so you hear car traffic.

I really like the security in the hotel in terms of needing your room key card to activate the elevators. Sure keeps strangers out. After I checked in, I found the heat didn't work in my room and it was very cold. I notified management and they quickly moved me to another room with heat. The management and staff were great, friendly and polite. I had asked them to arrange taxi service for me and they were great. I found the food in their restaurant priced on the high side and the portions on the small side with average quality. There are a ton of place to eat within walking distance of the hotel. But, all in all it is a good place to stay and I would stay there again.

This "boutique" hotel in the heart of Vancouver gave us one of our best traveling memories. From the excellent restaurant to the workout center with a fabulous view. the hotel is only a few blocks from the water taxi stands that whisk you across the river to the public market, and also a short walk to either the subway or bus stops. When we checked in i asked if they had a king-size bed room we could have and sure enough, we got it at no extra charge. The room was spacious and had everything one expects in a classy hotel: bathrobes, real glassware instead of plastic, etc. The staff was impressively friendly and helpful, but i kept seeing a man in a suit wandering the hotel, not making eye contact and with a facial expression reminiscent of serious bowel problems -- He turned out to be the hotel's General Manager. In our four days there he passed us numerous times but never said hello.

We stayed four days. Had a kingsize bed in a beautiful room. I tell my friends that it was so classy it had real glasses and silverware in the room, as well as his/hers robes. Used the fitness room every day, enjoying the view of the harbor. Nothing extra was free except the exercise room, but I travel enough not to always expect freebies. The concierge, was friendly and knowledgeable; the desk clerks the same. Only negatiive staff comment would be about the GM: we saw him almost every day - no smile, no greeting - I finally had to ask who the sourpuss was who worked in the glass office next to the counter. Fantastic view from the 9th floor terrace, great restaurant (especially try the seafood chowder and appetizer salad). Close to everything - 2 1/2 blocks from water taxis to Granville Island - incredible market! - and buses to waterfront and other sites. Would definitely stay there again.
