My family and I recently stayed at the Red Lion. We found it to be in an excellent location - right in the middle of downtown and just a few blocks to the Link taking us to/from the airport, the Monorail, historical Pioneer's Square and of course Pike's Market. So there's no need to rent a car as everything is within walking distance. The room was huge and the beds were very comfortable. All in all, we were very pleased and we will definitely stay there again the next time we find ourselves in the Emerald City.

The Red Lion is pretty standard for a downtown hotel. Everything was nice and well maintained and it was a comfortable stay all around. I didn't have much interaction with the staff outside of checking in/out but they seemed very nice and courteous the few times I spoke with them. I only have a few complaints and they are all relatively small: - The breakfast buffet is way overpriced for what they were serving. It was very simple breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast/bagels) and even for "downtown prices" it seemed a little steep for what was there. Mixing it up with some pancakes or waffles would have made it a bit more worth the price. This one's not too big an issue since there are plenty of places nearby to grab some breakfast. - This is largely personal preference, but the water in the shower wasn't very hot. I like my showers to be super hot and the temperature never really exceeded mildly warm. - The last thing is that it said there was free wireless internet but I was never able to find it using any of my WiFi devices (an android phone and an iPad). There was a LAN cord to hardwire in to a computer, which worked fine, but I wasn't able to use WiFi at all during my stay. Again, these were all fairly small issues overall so my overall stay was decent.

  • Great hotel, right in the middle of all the action.

Unusually soft beds for a hotel! I've stayed in much more expensive hotels and they all invariably had firm beds. Quite a pleasant surprise. The unpleasant surprise was the cost of the parking, $32 per night. It was not mentioned in the hotel description, so the rate seemed very reasonable, until we checked in and found out what was the parking fee.

was unhappy that we had gotten locked out of our room 3 times do to ?? staff even tried to say it was because we had put our rom key in a wallet near a credit card or near electronics.. do like this location and price. will stay there again if thats the best choice but my expectations will not be high for the personal service.
