Yes the location is great, however, the lumpy sagging mattress, the wet carpet and the mold in the bathroom didnt make up for it. They did a beautiful remodel and you cant beat the location but they should have spent some $$$ on new mattressess. Dont expect a good nights sleep. Rooms are very small. even with them trying to fix the problems for us, the new room STILL had a sagging mattress. Wouldnt go back

I loved the elegant ambience of the Allerton Hotel!! I read all the hotel reviews prior to our tip and that's what led me to choose the Allerton. It is CLOSE to everything that we wanted to do - Navy Pier, shopping (though I didn't get to shop#, Michael Jordan's steakhouse #DELISH!!) and just about everything you could think of!! The staff made us feel welcome, and I am indebted to the housekeeping guy who recommended the West Egg Cafe for breakfast - LOVE that place!! Now if you're not used to "big city life" then the sirens, and noise may throw you off a bit- but seriously, if you're on vacation, will you really be in your hotel room?? We enjoyed the Allerton and would recommend it and would go back for another stay!

It's a nice older hotel. Staff was friendly. Rooms are nicely updated. My only negative comments would be that for coffee in the morning you have to go to the lobby and carry it back to your room. Also, the tv remote did not work very well. Even so, I would stay there again.

Great hotel but uncomfortable beds
04/24/2012Everything from the staff, to the location, to the cleanliness was amazing. only downside, the beds are stiff and i prefer a a softer, more supportive bed.
