Over all the hotel was OK. The location was great and the staff was nice; especially the maids. But the room did not look as nice as the pictures. The room was small, especially the bathroom. The hall ways had a funny smell. My 10 year old daughter kept complaining of the smell everytime we walked in the hall way. She did not like the hotel at all. The parking was terrible. We paid $18/day for parking that was too small and hard to get in and out of. On some weekends, I was not able to get out of the parking lot because my car was blocked by another car. I had to wait for about 15 minutes before someone moved the other car. This hotel needs to be renovated.

Overall my experience at this hotel was not awful, but only because I was in Hawaii! If you like to watch night walkers, you'll love this place. Located along Kuhio, you too can get to know the local "businesswomen" without ever looking for them. The hotel is indeed in need of a makeover, but not just the rooms. The only staff member I found even romotely helpful was the General Manager, who apologized profusely for our experience. Which leads me to the heart of my complaint. Traveling with a group of males mostly under the age of 30, we often congregated on the lanai to chat and discuss the nights dinner, etc. One evening the security guard "rent-a-cop" came up to say they had complaints we were shouting to the passers by. We extremely calmly stated we had been doing nothing of the sort, and were indeed just talking to eachother in a normal tone. The 20 year old power tripping goon proceeded to tell us that we were now required to give him our names, and we may be getting kicked out of the hotel. Again, and still calmly, said we would desperse and be on our way. He refused to let us go until he had everyone's name and room number. Nice Aloha spirit. A couple of us were finally "cleared to go", we went down to ask for a manager. Only to have the same guy come down and start arguing with us, and telling the manager lies as to our demeanor and discussion. The next morning the GM called us down to discuss the situation, only to realize they were completely in the wrong. We were then profiled by the security and made to feel unwelcome. Stay at the Ohana East! Nicer overall & friendly!

upon arrival the room we were given was still in use but front desk corrected with better room and complinetary chocolates. the room was kinda shabby, wall paper coming off wall, missing floor molding, etc.... but overall the room was fine- - good shower! the hotel is situated centrally so was easy to get in and out from parking garage, but don't take any large scale car in there! overall, the hotel is fine, good value for money and location- too busy to get to pool area.

The first night was a nightmare because there was a prom party going on right across from me until 6 in the morning, and I couldn't sleep at all. The party guests spoke loudly and played loud music. I called for security but the party continued. The next day, I was switched to another room and luckily, I didn't have this same experience. If it wasn't for prom night partying, I would definitely stay there again. Also, the first night that I arrived, I had to find parking on the street because all the parking stalls were taken.

nd this was our first holiday to oahu. we stayed for a few nights at another hotel almost directly across the street from OHANA beachcomber. Because of the airline situation we had to remain a few more days in waikiki unexpectedly. Calling the travel agency we were able to find the OHANA at a rate lower than our other hotel the previous days before we had the layover. When we arrived the service was very good and prompt. What was so surprising was the room. It was newly renovated and lovely, clean, larger than the room at the previous hotel. We were amazed at the decor and the larger lanai (balcony). the view was of he city, beach and a beautiful site of honolulu. the quiet hotel was a buzz but there were no disturbances at all from other hotel guest. the laundry facility was perfectly centered near the parking garage and very clean as well. because the shopping was at our finger tips it was a wonderful treat after having to layover days that we did not expect at this such a lovely hotel. thanks OHANA BEACHCOMBER we would love to visit once again.
