And by small, I mean it seems crammed a little. Of course, it's in the middle of historic San Francisco, so everything will pretty much be that way. Staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean and very nice. They were a bit smaller than I expected, especially since I had gotten one of the bigger rooms. Still have standard definition CRT TVs. but I mean, who just sits in their room and watches TV? Well, we had to because my finacee wasn't feeling well one of the nights. Free WiFi available, but you have to sign up for some kind of membership to get it (which is free). They have a free Wine after a certain time, but we didn't take advantage of it. The location is good. Right in Union Square and close to quite a few restaurants, and close to the cable car that could take you to Fisherman's Wharf. From there, you can see both the Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz. We walked from there to right before Golden Gate in about an hours worth of a walk. I wasn't really wow'd by the entire experience, so I might try something new next time. However, it wasn't a bad experience.

The staff was truly outstanding! They allowed us to check in early (before 9 a.m.) and upgraded us to a suite. We stayed in the club level, so we were able to attend cocktails and appetizers in the afternoons and coffee in the mornings. We received the NY Times in the morning. I have never seen so many wonderful and friendly people at any hotel ever! (They went out of their way to help.) The rooms were beautiful and comfortable! My son was happy with the free internet connection and huge t.v. ( We had a smaller t.v.) The only real problem with the older hotels (which I love staying in!) would be the THIN walls -- it can be extremely noisy! My son used ear plugs and he seemed okay -- we should have also. I was impressed with the large bathroom -- you don't usually have spaces like that in any downtown city! We love Wolfgang Puck -- we ate at Wolfgang Puck's Express at Macy's quite a few times, but never really had the opportunity to try his restaurant at the hotel. (We spent most of our time visiting family and going to different events.) That's definitely on our to-do list for next year's trip when we return to S.F! We do plan to stay at the Prescott again.
