Internet was expensive; I thought most hotels provided free internet these days? Only issue we had was the cleaning service cleaned our room even when we placed the Do Not Disturb sign on the door but not a huge issue. I liked the on-site gym.

The challenge was the room: Small is an understatement, it is a bed with 2 small dinning chairs that you skinny by if you are sleeping on the window side. Maybe 11 x 11(? - not exaggerating) and a very small bath area. There is no where to simply sit back and read unless you want to sit in bed? The other issue, and a big one: was the room HVAC. Five nights, and only one with air-conditioning. The thermostat kept resetting to 82 degrees when I would lower it to 70 but it would not come back on. Coming back to a hot room after walking back from the convention center, or waking up each morning was no fun. The Engineering Tech was nice enough, but replaced the thermostat 2x, reset the compressor breaker 2 times. Stay away from Club Level Room 423. This one is just strange from a Security view: The fire escape window was just outside of my room; upon coming home it was fully pulled up (window wide open) allowing anyone to come and go. I called the desk at 5:30pm and asked why it was still open; the desk staff stated it was open for normal service needs. When I came back from dinner at 9:30pm; the window was still wide open; I closed and locked the window. Strange enough though, was entering my room; it was back at 82 degrees... but I could not open the room windows to cool it down, they were permanently locked down.

My room, 515, was perfectly fine for a one-night stay for one person. Two without lots of luggage would do fine as well. However, there's nothing special about the room, and certain features seemed dated/old rather than vintage/charming i.e. the horridly uncomfortable desk chair and bathroom tiling. Even though my room was tucked away, I could still hear people in the hallway. My room had NO VIEW other than of other windows of the hotel. The benefit to The Prescott is its location, which is perfect for , anyone with a shopping bug, as Union Square is just around the corner. At this time of year, there is a small skating rink and a the department stores are decorated for the season. Also be sure to either order room service or head down to the hotel bar for happy hour — the calamari and fig & prosciutto pizza are particularly noteworthy. All the staff members were helpful without being pretentious.
