What I loved about this hotel is the location. Right on the bay, and beautiful. The rooms are quite nice, I stayed during the week, so the rates were excellent and it wasn't crowded. There is an excellent place to rent kayaks and other water toys by the "Barefoot" restaurant. A bit of a tourist trap with restaurants owned by the hotel. Food is sub-par but palatable.

grounds were pretty and quiet. otherwise, the walls were PAPER thin. its horrible being woken up in the middle of the night by the neighbors FOOTSTEPS! towels, walls, carpets, chairs, shower curtains and bedding was dirty. toilet broke twice. NOTHING was close except sea world. unbelievable, unnecessary charges. $1 just for DIALING?? no thanks. i'll stick to my cruises.

My wife and I went for our aniversary to escape the January cold. We got a great deal because things are slow in mid-January and when we arrived, since it was our 10th aniversary, they put us in a waterfront suite. The room and the view were absolute delights. Clean and fresh and fun. Too cold to swim but fire pits and walking on the beach was nice (though the beach is in the bay and a little mucky since it isn't cleaned by the surf). Staff was super and the restaraunt was excellent. Escaping cloudy skies and dirty slushy January snow for shorts, palm trees, ocean, ahhhhhh.

Our stay was almost perfect. There are a few reasons why the did not get a 5 out of 5 on some of the rating so allow me to explain. The resort is beatiful and the staff was friendly. We went on a family vacation with another family. It would have been nice if the staff would have put us in rooms next to each other. It was raining the day we checked into our room and we did not have a rug on the floor so entering into our room, which had hardwood floors, got a little slick. We did have a bathroom sink that broke on us during our 7 day stay, but the maintenance fixed it immediately. I have to say the gift shop staff were the most helpful and friendly. We purchased zoo and sea world tickets from them and they were extremely helpful with dinner suggestions and directions. Beatiful area. We would definitely stay again but will probably upgrade to a room next to the beach area.
