I don't recommend staying here unless you're okay with them putting a hold on your card for over $400 AFTER you've already paid for everything and then telling you you can't stay there if you don't let them. Who are they to say I can't stay when I've already paid? I understand they need our credit card info, but they don't need to make that large of a charge on it. The parking is $32 a day not $28, and you are also forced to pay $17 a day for your passport to paradise even if you're not using anything in it. You also have to pay room tax and some other random tax besides what you've already paid. As much as you end up spending, this place isn't worth it. They even put bottled water in your room, which you'd think would be complimentary, but if you drink it they'll charge you $4. Even the cheapest of places has free WiFi, but this place doesn't. The only good thing about this place is that its pretty, but that, in no way, makes the trouble you go through worth it. I don't recommend staying here, there are plenty of other nice places to stay.

  • Only problem was an unexpected Passport Fee of $17 per day.

We can not say enough good things about Paradise Point in San Diego. To begin with the staff is wonderful. Customer service rings in everything they do. For months before we left our home, these folks were so accomodating. They spent so much time with us on the phone to tell us about the area and sites. They help us plan two very special things that we wanted to do on our vacation as well as some very special values that we took advantage of. It was wonderful to be in our own personal bungalow type room that was not several stories up, but right on the ground. Every bungalo had personal parking. Aside from the door that opens to the parking side, we had also had a door that opened to the bay. There was a small patio with 2 chairs and a small table. A wonderful place to enjoy coffee in the morning and wine at night. All you hear is the water. It is extremely relaxing. If you go as a couple or with the kids you will be happy. They have pool areas for peole with kids, that include hot tubs, and fire pits for making smores, mini golf, tandem bikes, sailing (on jetskies, sail boats, catamarans, kayaks and motor boats). There are some pools designated for adults only for a couples peace and quiet which also have hot tubs. There are also firepits on the beach side as well. Lets not forget the spa. I have never had an experience like that. The back massage was wonderful, but so was the treatment all around that experience. from the relax room to the shower - it was amazing. And again - a very accomodating staff. The food is fabulous wether you eat at the Grill or in their fancier resturant. They have everything you can think of to keep the kids busy. They're the most important asset are the people. They can not do enough for you. They are truely accomidating and friendly. They make it worth every penny. From the owner to the cleaning staff they just ooze friendly customer service. If you don't try this place - you are missing out...

The resort is beautiful but the rooms themselves are in need of repair. Our bathroom door was falling off the hinges and the toilet was broken. Except for those 2 things, it was great! The prices are pretty steep- you can expect to spend about $90 for lunch on the resort for a family of 4 and well over $100 per meal for 4 dinners. The beach and the pools are great. We enjoyed the gas fire-pit, but the others would be better if there were chairs around them on the beach, as most out-of-town travellers do not bring their own lawn chairs. The staff was very friendly.
