Upon entering the lobby, I thought that this was a great place to stay. The desk person even upgraded my room from a double queen to a king at no additional cost. I felt that I was getting a good room for the money. There was to be someone there to show us to our room. The room turned out to be a bungalow-style room and the person never showed up. We were able to find it no thanks to their directions. The bungalow had a separate living/dining room and small kitchen area and bedroom. It did have a television in each room. The furniture was so so. Could have been upgraded. The small frig was not anchored down and moved when it was opened and the cabinets door could not even close. Poor construction. They could have gone to Home Depot and got better ones for a cheap price. The toilet rocked when one sat on it. Overall, it seems like they have nothing to upgrade the rooms to a level that their name represents. Probably the best thing about our stay was that the cottage overlooked the bay.

  • Still happy the second time...

We have stayed at PPR twice and both times have enjoyed everything the resort has to offer. This resort and its ammentities caters to families so if your looking for an adult get-away try elsewhere(however one of the many pools is for adults only). The newely renovated rooms are very nice and modern, most importantly the rooms are large with plenty of space. Both room we stayed in offered a couch which pulled out bed, the room was planned to accomodate the pull out without moving furniture or being cramped - this was well thought out! We stayed in a garden room, the TV system was broken and unfortunatly the TV could not be repaired that night, the next morning they moved us to a bay front bungalow for the rest of our stay without any upcharges! The grounds were well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. Like most resorts in CA. be prepared to overspend on food, drinks and rentals - its this way everywhere.

  • If your into Quality...Do not book here!

In all fairness I will start by saying that I did not stay at this hotel (resort) long enough to speak on the workout room, spa, pool..etc. My family and I booked this resort because the website made it look really nice. We do like to stay in nicer hotels but we have three kids so we like family friendly also. The minute we walked into the room (actually we booked two connecting rooms) both looked the exact same, when we clearly booked one with a king for me and hubby and the other to have the two queens for the kids. They said they didn't have that. Um...didn't we "book" it? Whatever. We walk in the room and right away it was clear that the photography on the website is a little bit of magic. The descriptions are misleading and I was not happy. As I walk through the room and see no dresser for our clothes, mold literally growing in a few places, hardware throughout that was a joke, and a back slider that will not lock I was increasingly upset. We paid alot of money for what I thought was a great resort and these rooms were not at all what they are selling in there advertisements. NOT AT ALL! Next I look out the back door to find a large swamp pond filled with muck! Do they think that is nice? Seriously muck! Next we go up to the restaurant for breakfast...cant remember the exact name...maybe barefoot grill. Anyway, I could not believe it! I thought we were in a bad dream or something. We order, after a very long wait the girl brings half of our group their food. When we ask her about it she comes back to tell us she's sorry, she messed up the order and will get the rest right out to us. So now two of my kids are sitting there not eating. Ok...so we wait, wait, wait. Finally we tell her never mind, we want the check. She eventually brings it, but with no pen to sign the receipt slip. Thankfully one of the other waiters walking by had one and we were able to use his. The final straw was the "bay". Are they serious....People swim in that? I do not believe that. Again, the edge of the water, and a few feet out was pure muck! That green, brown slime you see in gross ponds! We called the manager and talked to him about our concerns. He said he would see what he could do and call us right back. After about an hour we finally had to call him back, he told us they renovate as they can. He also told us that he could show us something different but to be honest with you it was clear we were just going to see another VERY old room. We abruptly left and checked into another hotel. I your dollars have any value do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Sorry Paradise point....but your website does not represent what your resort is!

Overall our stay at Paradise Point was very good. The staff were very professional and friendly. The property was beautiful and right on the water with easy access to multiple pools. The location of the resort was convenient for us in that it was right accross the street from Sea World.

  • Great location.
