We visited ( 2 couples) in early November, 2008 and were blessed with great weather despite it being ""hurricane season"". We've been to Hawaii many times--try to go every year now that we're retired--but have never gone in the fall. The hotel was quite busy, so we were fortunate to be bumped up to the Regency Club Level ( 37th floor--spectacular views despite it being the mountain/ city one; sparkling lights at night and rainbows during the day). The staff was wonderful on all levels, from registration, housekeeping, valets, bellhops, maintenance ( the drapery wand had broken and the maintenance person was upstairs to fix it within minutes of reporting it). Regency Club staffers even had our car waiting for us after our ample and delicious complimentary continental breakfast. Our last stay in Waikiki ( 2006) was at the nearby Marriott. We will never stay at another Marriott facility again if I can help it--we've stayed at manyof them, on all levels ( JW in Scottsdale, etc.) but that's another review.

In late 2007, we capped off a romantic seven day stay on the Big Island with a three night stay at the Hyatt Waikiki. We were lucky enough to have this leg of our trip through Pleasant Holidays. As such, we were put on the Diamond Level (26 floors up) with incredible, breathtaking views of Waikiki - sunsets I will never forget. Being on the Diamond Level, we were guests of the Regency Lounge - complimentary breakfast buffet, complimentary all day snack and soft drink service, complimentary appetizers and cocktail service each afternoon and complimentary dessert and liqueur service each evening. We made a lot of new friends, and our hostess was a lovely woman who hugged us goodbye on our last morning there. Our room was perfect. I really enjoyed the toiletries - straight from Na Ho ola, the hotel's spa. I've ordered some of the products online - they are truly yummy. The four days and three nights at the Hyatt were definitely an excellent ending to the perfect vacation. The negative reviews I've read here make me wonder if the reviewers might be mistaken about which hotel they were reviewing.

We were on a honeymoon and the hotel said there is an complentary of champange for honeymooner. After two reminder, the champange never showed up at our room as promised. We booked for a king bed room facing the beach, the first night there they didn't have the single bed, so we're end up in a double bed for one night. THen they were able to switch to the single bed on our second night but it still wasn't the room that facing the beach as we had made during our reservation.

Stayed in the Diamond Head Tower, Ocean Front, 27th floor. Beautiful view of the beach below with the most awsome sunsets I've ever seen in my life. The Hyatt Regency in Waikiki is the most superb hotel I've have ever stayed at. The employees were very accomodating, the room was immaculate and cleaned every day and the bed was super comfortable. The best sleep I have had in years! I chose the hotel package deal that was on sale called the ""Sunshine Ocean Front Deluxe"". Our 3rd night stay was for free and also included was a buffet breakfast for 2 each morning at their Terrace Grill. This restaurant is great with a huge sortment of delicious food. Seating is indoors or out on the scenic patio. What a delight on our first morning breakfast to be seated outdoors in the fresh breeze and sunshine with swaying palm trees and soft music. The waiters/waitresses were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. There was nightly live music around the pool area and also down on the beach at sunset with Hawaiian music and dancers. Transportation was easy to use to get around different areas and there was never a long wait for bus pickups. The bus fare is $2.00 one way but a transfer slip is given if you want to return within a few hours which would be a free trip back to your destination. The beach in front of the Hyatt is congested due to the surfboard and boat rentals, but there is still ample space for those who want to lay out and catch some rays. However, you could always walk aways down the strand to a less congested area. We will definately stay at the Hyatt Regency again!
