We stayed two weeks in this hotel which is literally across the street from Waikiki Beach. We had booked a standard room, but when we arrrived we decided to upgrade. The extremely courteous and friendly staff worked to find us another room on the 11th floor, looking out at the beach and Diamond Head. We paid extra for the upgrade, but it was definitely worth it. Honolulu Zoo and the vast Kapiolani Park are across the street, making for great views. The bus stop is right across the street and a very convenient way to get around town. The rooms are clean, bright, and well maintained. HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel. Hula's Gay Bar is next door, and a great watering hole for the city's gay and not-so-gay patrons. We walked to virtually everything on Waikiki Beach, and the hotel travel desk was very helpful with car rentals, tours, etc. Recommend you rent a car through the travel desk - rates are better. This hotel was the best decision we made - would stay there again in a heartbeat. It sure beats some of the pricier Waikiki hotels. You won't find a lot of fancy glitz, but the lobby is pleasant, WiFi is free in the lobby and the second floor, and Lulu's Surf Restaurant is off the 2nd floor, and has seating with views of the beach. Be warned: Lulu's gets loud in the evenings, and you can hear the live music on the ocean side.. So if you sleep light, try and stay as high up as possible. We are very discriminating, seasoned gay travelers, and we just loved this hotel! During the tsunami in Feb 2010, the staff were completely professional, informed, and in control. No worries if you stay here.

The location was the best, the bell captain was wonderful, our house keeper was sweet as apple pie took very good care of us, the front desk up graded our room Thank You again. the rooms need some up grade wish the air conditioner worked a little better and could of used a microwave. But I will always stay there when i come back I stayed 14 days 12-22-09 till 01-04-10

We stayed in this hotel for 12 nights and just loved it. Location is the best, staff friendly, rooms are a little old but very clean, bathroom renovated and spotless. Due to location we didn't rent the car and therefore saved a lot of money (you have to pay for parking - $* per night). Concierge was very helpful and advised us the best activities (go to Jessica - she's the best:-). So overall it is the best deal you can get!

This is a small older hotel that is well maintained and clean. Across one street from the beach, across one street toward Diamondhead from the zoo. Our ocean front room had beautiful views of Diamonhead and the ocean. We could watch the sunset and the surfers. Great people watching from the balcony. The hotel is located just on the end of the strip of all the stores and shopping and easy walk to the mall and International Market. Staff was friendly and helpful though I think the concierge was new but there were plenty of others to assist. We didn't eat there but heard the food was good. Literally, ABC stores every block so plenty of places to buy snacks for the room. The room was a little small, small bath, two double beds and a HUGE plasma screen tv, two closets and an in room coffee maker. Bar on the second floor had live music which wafted into the room at night, but was not disturbing and they quit around midnight. We really enjoyed our stay. Traveling was my husband and I and our 23 year old daughter.

We stayed at the Park Shore for 12 days in Oct. 2009. The location was perfect. Right off the beach and walking distance to what we wanted to do, The staff were all very friendly and so helpful. Always a smile and asking how we were doing and if we needed anything. Our room was cleaned and we had no problems with it. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
