We came to Las Vegas to celebrate my husband's birthday recently. While staying at the Golden Nugget, we enjoyed the awesome feel and fun of Fremont Street, as well as the amazing Golden Nugget pool. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and enjoyable too. I would stay here again in a heartbeat - not only because I love Fremont Street, but because the hotel is great.

We loved the bed so much that we called the Golden Nugget when we got home and asked who to order the sheets/pillows/duvet from. They put us in touch with Sobel/Westex and we now have our Golden Nugget bed at home too!!

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel for three nights. The restaurant choices were great. The Golden Nugget is known for their pool and it does not disappoint. I just wouldn't recommend staying in the Carson Tower, only because it's probably about a 3 block walk around the hotel to even hit the casino! But once you hit the casino, if your nice and thirsty the waitress are prompt in bringing any type of beverage you desire. Then, walk out onto Freemont ST, for the Freemont experience!

THE GOLDEN NUGGET IS A NICE PLACE FOR ADULTS,NOT FOR FAMILIES. THE ADULT CARNIVAL ATMOSPHERE ON FREMONT STREET(RIGHT OUTSIDE THE GOLDEN NUGGET DOOR) IS NO PLACE FOR CHILDREN. FOR THAT MATTER, WHAT WE EXPERIENCED INSIDE THE NUGGET WAS NOT TO OUR TASTE EITHER, AT TIMES. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAD NOT BEEN TO LAS VEGAS IN SEVERAL YEARS. WE FOUND IT QUITE DIFFERENT AND NOT FOR US ANYMORE. THIS IS UNFORTUNATE AS WE USED TO GO THERE A FEW TIMES A YEAR AND ENJOYED IT. THE NUGGET ITSELF WAS OK. THE STAFF WAS NOT VERY FRIENDLY. NO SMILING FACES ANYWHERE. HOUSEKEEPING KEPT FORGETTING VARIOUS LINEN ITEMS, SO, WE HAD TO REPEATEDLY CALL . FINALLY ON OUR LAST NIGHT WE JUST GAVE UP AND WENT WITHOUT THE MISSING ITEMS. ONE DAY WE RETURNED TO A MADE BED AND PARTIALLY CLEAN BATH WITH DIRTY TOWELS LEFT. ITEMS FROM A PREVIOUS GUEST WERE FOUND ON THE FLOOR AND HANGING IN BATH. WE ATE IN THE CAFE TWICE AND THE GROTTO ONCE. THE FOOD WAS NOTHING TO RECOMMEND AND THE PRICES WERE RATHER HIGH.

we had a weekend get away that was just what we needed. located in a great spot in the middle of fremont st. we spent a day on the strip but both of us were ready to lose the crowds along the sidewalks there to get back to our "downtown experience." we had a blast and won a free trip to vegas so may be right back to the same spot come spring.
