I have stayed in many hotels in Vegas throughout the years and this is the only hotel I've stayed at more than once. In my opinion it is probably the best hotel on Freemont. I am beginning to see other hotels renovating their rooms so this review may not be relevant in a year or two, but for the last 10 years it's been a great mainstay downtown.

the hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Las Vegas and offers everything you may expect from a nice hotel. You can take a bus or a taxi to the strip and back for around $50, experience both key locations in Vegas and pay less than you would if you stayed in an equivalent hotel on the strip.

As always the Golden Nugget has been my choice for hotels in Vegas. This trip we stayed in the Club Towers and I would highly recommend upgrading...lovely rooms and amenities (if known). We were quite dissapointed at the lack of communication as to what came with the room, lack of soap, shampoo & lotions, not knowing there would be coffee in the foyer in the morning and water and snacks throughout the day. Throughout our stay we received conflicting advise and as late as the day we checked out some issues were not clear. It seems the employees have lost their spark. Customer service was always #1 there and we rarely got a smile. Possibly there are budget cuts, I don't know, however I was really surprised. It was the little things I always loved about the Nugget, the clean doors and windows, fresh flowers around and the band every night. My stay was ok, however I think I will go to the Strip next time.

This was our 6th trip to Las Vegas in the last several years and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Every time we have been there the service and staff has been outstanding. The rooms are always clean and the beds and pillows are awesome. The Carson tower is far enough away that you don't have the noise and smoke from the casino and Fremont street , but close enough to make the stop back to your room with little effort. I would recommend the Nugget (and have done so) to anyone looking for a great stay in the best part of vegas to enjoy.
