Stayed in the Premier Suite Apartment. Wonderfully decorated comfortable room. The pool is fantastic...too many children only bad thing. This was our first visit to Las Vegas and everyone suggested we stay on the strip for our first visit. I disagree we loved the Freemont Street Experience. It has an almost Mardi Gras feel. We did visit the strip, can't go to Vegas without going to the strip, a 24 hour bus pass takes you to the strip and back to Freemont street there is no need to rent a car. We enjoyed the Golden Nugget so much we are making arrangements to go again with another couple. This time we will go when children should be in school and hopefully be able to enjoy the pool a lot more, but for anyone with kids the slide that goes right through the shark tank is fantastic, probably why there were so many children.

We stayed 5 days over July 4th weekend, discovered not nearly enough chairs for pool area. We even tried renting chairs for the next day, but when we did not check in at the pool RIGHT when they opened, they re-rented our chairs to someone else, we ended up stuck in a corner far away from the pool.GOOD LUCK trying to get a drink in the casino, we spent an average of 3 hours per day in the Golden Nugget casino playing both tables and machines, and only on one occasion did a waitress come around to offer drinks. On our last day in vegas we went to 6 other casinos, and within 10 minutes of sitting down at a machine to gamble we were waited on.At the New York-New York casino the waitress came around every 15 minutes to check on us.The Golden Nugget is a nice hotel if you are taking kids, but if you want some adult fun, stay somewhere else. And if you want to buy something in side the hotel you had better actually have a GOLD NUGGET, due to very very high prices inside the hotel, especially compared to buying things at other places.

I had made reservatiions for three of my employees and myself and wife. Also two friends made reservations because we wanted to stay at the Golden Nugget downtown. My friends both got their rooms and my three female employees got their room but when it came to mine they had no record of my reservation and the hotel clerk said "We don't have any rooms" I would have gladly paid for a suite had it been offered but it wasn't. I told the clerk to just forget it, I'd find some place. I am disappointed that I could not be there to partake of the pool with my friends, but as they say sxxx happens. The Nugget, I am sure, is worthy of your business, I just wasn't treated well.**** Note that i had to rate somethings below even though I don't know as wasn't allowed to stay in the hotel. Saw a rm of one of my guests

Great room for the money, no hidden "resort fees" like most places in Vegas seem to use to disguise their true rate. We stayed in their cheapest room (Carson Tower), but it was still good sized, well decorated, clean, and perfectly well-maintained. The pool is what made it a must stay for us: it has an enormous shark tank in the middle--simply awesome (don't forget to bring swim goggles so you can view the sharks, tuna, etc, while actually underwater too). The staff was always friendly and we always felt safe. I can't speak for the dining as we always eat at Main Street Station when on Fremont Street. I think we will stay here every time we go to Vegas!
